Since Brendan Rodgers arrived from Celtic, the Foxes have played some terrific football. Rodgers has them well-organized and playing up to their potential, including wins in 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions.
Rodgers is quoted on the Leicester City FC website saying: “Firstly, you’ve got to defend well, you’ve got to work on it every day, and then of course, you can have more opportunities to score goals. The players have been absolutely first-class. It comes from training. Not just the players who are playing, but also the ones who are not playing.”
For Leicester City, their goal on Saturday will be to continue their winning ways and head into the international break on a high note, with momentum and confidence.
For the Gunners, the goals on Saturday will be to find some positives in their performances, and to save Unai Emery’s job…at least for now. Dropping points on Saturday is not an option for Arsenal. A defeat would undoubtably drop them deep into the middle of the table, and would create more uncertainty in the organization while further sinking the team’s level of confidence.
Currently, Jamie Vardy and his band are hitting all the notes, while Aubameyang and his group are currently flat and off key.
On Saturday, let’s hope the Gunners can find the right notes, put all of the noise to the side, play together as a unit, find some goals, defend better, and bring 3 points back to north London. Arsenal need to win. This is a tough ask, but a necessary one.
