Iwobi to start for Arsenal after sending Nigeria to World Cup?

It may well be a tough job for Arsene Wenger to pick his Arsenal forward line to face Watford in our next Premier League game next week, what with Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil said to be fit and available again after their injury lay-offs, but you would have to think that Alex Iwobi is in with a shout.

The young Nigerian international will be feeling pretty good today after scoring the goal that booked a World Cup place for his team. The young Gunner came off the bench to settle the tie against Zambia with the only goal of the game after the likes of Victor Moses and Ighalo had squandered chances.

This continues the recent good form of Iwobi who has looked sharp lately and will be hoping to add to only three Premier League appearances so far this season. His last Arsenal match was the win over Brighton which he did start and played well, scoring a great second goal to secure the points with a little help from some Alexis Sanchez brilliance in the box.

A lot may depend on whether this idea about Ozil’s heart not being in it are true or not, but Iwobi is definitely one of the players knocking on the door and he will be feeling confident whereas the German has not played for a while. Would you start Iwobi at Watford?
