Jack Wilshere may wait until deadline day to decide new club

The ex-Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is certainly taking his time deciding what to do with his life after 17 years with the Gunners. He has taken a trip to Istanbul to talk to Fenerbahce, but despite what the mighty Kev has said, it is far from being a done deal.

Now Sky is reporting that the Londoner has been in talks with our neighbours at West Ham, and there have also been rumours of interest from Crystal Palace, Wolves and Everton, and Jack seems very relaxed about it all..

“This has been a good opportunity for me to rest and reflect on my life and what I want – I am not going to rush that decision,” Wilshere said.

“The transfer window finishes early August, so we still have some time and with the World Cup still going on things happen after the World Cup and during.

“Everyone knows what Deadline Day is like, it’s manic and teams start to panic so we will see. I am not putting a deadline on anything.”

So Jack has a month yet to make his decision, and I have the feeling that he won’t be straying far from his family and friends in London, so my money is going on the West Ham move.

Where do you think he will end up?

  1. Rumours coming in that Arsenal are after Lozano, if this is true and it actually happens, I will be ecstatic… He’s gona be a better Alexis Sanchez

    1. Anyone find it crazy how for years we were told by Wenger that there were no world class or quality players up for grabs and he refused to fill our DM yet Unai who has spent just a month at the club alongside Sven Identified Torreria as the perfect player for us

      1. The low buy out helps, if Wenger paid 20 to 25m on a player in this position, brought in a free 34 year old and got a 17m defender, I reckon allot of people would act unimpressed and slightly pissed so far. You can say prices don’t matter but when people see city, che and utd buying success you can tell fans do care about prices. Don’t get me wrong Torriera looks like a steal, but people would not let Wenger off the hook for when he and his team found a steal. Am not saying these players won’t make us better, or are not better than the usual signings esp the money that looked to be wasted on Xhaka and Mustafi (though hopefully they might turn it around). Just saying that these signings if made under Wenger’s reign would be met with hostility, and not only because they would be coached by Wenger, also in allot of thoughts would be Wenger adding has-beens and future deadwood, also average would be used due to the money spent. People would have a pop at that budget too, even though no-one at Arsenal said anything about a budget, people would lay it at Wengers feet.

    2. His work rate and speed are higher than the current Alexis Sanchez, because he is still very young. But Alexis Sanchez’s composure and skills are better than him

If Arsenal really have enough transfer funds, they should chase Bailey or Malcom, because many Arsenal attackers can play in Lozano’s position

  2. I am more concerned about the players coming in and especially hearing about Andre Gomes.
He has not been good for Barca and not good enough to start for Portugal.

    1. I bet Arsenal are after him because he is cheap, but he is not good

I have been watching Barcelona and Arsenal should target another CM with better abilities and work ethic

      1. I like Rabiot but he might be too similar to Ramsey, that Gomes fellow was supposed to replace Xavi. He failed but is it only one season he had, because we know you can’t judge a player coming into a new group on his first season, well you can but it doesn’t mean it’s the right call. Look at Dembelle, am sure you can think of others, Salah, De Bryne. It’s different at Arsenal compared to serial winning clubs and managers. I know nothing of Gomes but if Barcelona thought he could replace Xavi then I’d definitely look into that. Much prefer the sounds of this one than to Banega, Banega has got game but over the long haul as a first team player am not so sure.

    2. He was not selected for Portugal because he had less game time for Barca, he is the same player that helped Portugal win Euro 2016, not Ronaldo. His time at Barca has been horrible because the expectation of the Barca public has not been met, they expected him to be the new coming of “Xavi”, asked Cesc how was it in trying to replace one of Barca God-like stars asked Dennis Saurez how is it going.

Gomes has been said to be crappy by many spanish media and fans, not allowing the player to build his confidence and establish his own style. Arsenal with no expectation of wanting him to be a Xavi would be the right place for the talent Gomes to reach his true potential

  3. Must be hard deciding whether to
play for a club paying 90k per week
    or a club paying 120k p/w 🙂
“Poor” Jack I bet he would rather
flip burgers for 6 quid an hour…
But besides Jack’s horror of being virtually homeless now …
I think it will be really interesting to see if
another one of the English Core can star anytime soon
or were they all just token quota players all along?

    1. Hahaha..

Fact is battyglik, most of the “English” core at Arsenal were just not good enough to break into the first eleven. I doubt Welbeck will get much action next year in the Premier League. Maybe a starting role in cup games?

Beyond that and we have sold or released most of the “English” core..

Will be interesting to see what Mr. Emery has in store as far as youth and local talent is concerned?

      1. Sorry, my typing skills are shocking today.. I meant “barryglik” not battyglik!

        Sounds good though..? 🙂

  4. Sam P, deadline day has no bearing on Jack signing for another club. As he is a free agent, being out of contract, he can sign for another club at any time during the normal season.

    1. If I was Jack I would want a quick decision so I can do the preseason with his new club and settle into the team…..

      1. True, Admin!

I feel bas for Jack. He was Arsenal through and through. Who ever he goes to, he has my blessing and thanks!

On another note; Anyone else here who thinks Maradona is a complete dick?

          1. Maradona, great footballer who has destroyed his life with drugs. Too bad there was no VAR when the “hand of god struck.”

      2. Totally agree Mr admin but I was just pointing out to Sam that the deadline day is irrelevant to when he signs for someone.

      3. are you leaving us on a free mr.admin . so sorry to hear that , pastures new and all that , lol.

  5. Yes, he would most likely stay in London, but he has nothing to do with us anymore

I heard Wolverhampton and Huddersfield are chasing Adama Traore that is rumored to be available at merely eighteen millions. At that very low price, Traore would be a better choice than Shaqiri, because he is much younger, faster and more skillful

  6. I really hope Jack does not do a u-turn. We need that spot to open up, I also think it was wise to release Cazorla though I will really miss him and his great big smile. If Wenger were here I think Cazorla would be staying and maybe even Jack would have gotten another offer with ten or twenty grand a week added to the last offer (90 grand). I’m really looking forward to seeing what types of CM players that Sven Mislintat and Unai Emery identify before Raul Sanllehi and Huss Fahmy try to reel in.

  8. Jack doesn’t need to be constrained by deadline day to decide on his future. he is already a free agent and can speak to any club even if deadline day elapse.
