Kane should be careful what he says ahead of Arsenal clash

The young Tottenham goalscoring sensation Harry Kane sounds like he is writing off Arsenal ahead of today’s clash at White Hart Lane, and after 15 home wins in a row you can understand a little bit of confidence today, but when it comes to the North London Derby there is no room for cockiness.

Kane was reported as saying on SkySports today: “For the fans, it would be great to finish above Arsenal and actually do it by winning against them but, from our point of view, we’ve got bigger things to look forward to,”

“We’ve got to try and win that game to keep the pressure on Chelsea as much as we can.”

“Since the gaffer has been here, he’s changed everything and he’s been fantastic. You see the belief in the squad; you see the way we play,”

“Sometimes, we win 4-0 and we play fantastically and then there are nights like last Wednesday at Crystal Palace when we have to dig deep and get a 1-0 win. We did that and it shows we can do both sides of the game.

“The gaffer has installed his philosophy with the way we play — the pressing and getting the ball down — but he’s also installed that steel in us; that we’ve just got to find a way to win. He’s a very passionate manager and that bleeds into the rest of the team.”

Someone had better tell Kane that Tottenham very rarely beat Arsenal in the derby, so he had better start worrying about today before even considering catching Chelsea. Write off the Gunners at your peril!

  1. Kane just loves scoring against us. You bet he’ll do the same today as well. I wish we could re sign Rosicky and Flamini just for this game 🙂

  2. Yes, It’s True that the Spuds hardly beat us but when you look at their home form:

    Played 17
    Won 15
    Drawn 2
    Goals for 43
    Goals against 8
    Total points 47.

    Compared to Arsenal’s away form:

    Played 16
    Won 7
    Drawn 3
    Lost 6
    Goals for 32
    Goals against 25
    Total points 24.

This form suggests that the unbeaten at home Spuds with their mean defence, will beat us with ease.?

    1. Oh look… a spud troll must have thumbed me up, whereas a fellow Goon thumbed me down ??

      Must have been MANTAK ?
      ?Olay,Olay.. Olay, Olay ?
      ?Thumb me, Down,Down,Down?

      FAM 299
      BLUD 109 ??

  3. They title challengers let them talk, the wsy you do when we faced lower opposition. When we were still decent that is.

Iv written us off for this game, so I dnt care if he does too.

  4. Kane is just saying the truth…

With out pathetic squad and manager…

How are we suppose to beat the in form and quality spud team?

      1. The Favours are on a troll … I mean roll.
Utd dropped points earlier and now City are losing 1-0 at Middlesbrough ?
We don’t really want Chelsea to lose at Everton but that is a tricky game for them considering that the toffees have only lost once at home this season, thus far,

  5. Well Spurs have already finished above Arsenal barring some miracle that would even eclipse Leicester’s league triumph, and they have got bigger things to look forward to. There wasn’t really any needle from Kane, because he could have easily stuck the boot in if he wanted to.

Even if Spurs win the league, it doesn’t make them any bigger than Arsenal, but the two clubs are certainly moving quite dramatically in different directions.

  6. Kane’s opinion is valid but when it comes to derbies, form does not count. They(spurs) have definitely done well carrying on from the previous season. If arsenal wins the FA cup with or without top 4, they would have had a better season than spurs if Chelsea wins the league. But mr Wenger and the board has a lot of sorting out to do because the calibre of players in the starting eleven are not good enough to have arsenal compete favourably.

  7. Football is a funny old game.
Arsenal may not be in the best of form but they have started to in again.

I’m gonna hope for a win but then again… I am a true supporter.

  8. He’s a virgin. His football is all he has.

  9. Arsenal: Cech, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Xhaka, Gibbs, Ozil, Sanchez, Giroud

Subs: Ospina, Holding, Bellerín, Coquelin, Iwobi, Walcott, Welbeck

Clearly, Wenger has forgotten to take his medication… Again! ?
