Khedira rules out Arsenal move in January

A lot of Arsenal fans were pinning our hopes on getting Sami Khedira from Real Madrid in January, but the latest utterings from the German international has made it clear that he will not be leaving the Spanish giants this winter.

Khedira said in the Mail: ‘Right now, I cannot see any reason why I would leave the club this winter.’

‘Real Madrid is a great club to be at. This club has a place in my heart and there is absolutely no reason for me to say that I want to or have to leave.

‘I get the feeling I am still wanted (by coach Carlo Ancelotti).’

Ancelotti said last week that he would carry on trying to persuade Khedira to sign a new contract at Madrid right until his present deal runs out next summer, although the midfielder will certainly have some lucrative offers from other clubs considering he will be available on a free transfer.

Many pundits have expressed the thought that Khedira is exactly the type of midfielder that would make Arsenal hard to beat in the New Year, but now it looks like Wenger will have to either wait until next summer to get him on a free, or bring in a completely different target in January.

Who should Wenger make as his main DM target in the winter window now that Khedira is unavailable?

    1. 200k? we’d better give Sanchez half a mil then. Khedira isn’t even the best possible strengthening on the DM spot so why hugely overpay him to sign? Utter desperation if u ask me.

    2. I think we are going to have problems finding top players to come to Arsenal at present we have no chance of wining the EPL and CL there is something not quite right in the team it’s as if the team is split just like us the suporters.

We should not sell any players and reward play time to those who want to be there and not those dreaming about going to a club guarantee silver every year,

Let’s not mess around we should get Pep Guardiola before City close the deal, Pep can manage big players and he can bring a few big players as well.

      1. I have heard in the past that AW was offers to manage Real Madrid but he turned it dow becouse he said to many top players it would be impossible to manage them,

his right it is difficult just the other week Messie was told to come of the pitch to be subbed and he said no and stayed on the manager had to take someone els of,

There are only few managers that can manage team full of world class players and as we all know some players are spoilt assholes, Pep Guardiola said that he would love to manage a big club in England and we all know he has handled some big players.

Pep if the deal goes through with Arsenal I want my commission 🙂

    3. its not about the money man, he already lives like a petrol sjeikh. I mean hes on a holiday getting money without playing in sunny madrid. its his attitude thats the problem hes not a winner. would definitly fit our team at the moment full of overpayed losers. except alexis of course.

    4. My man ,I have the feeling the world has started to see the decline of Wenger mentally and technically and the big players will not be too interested to come in the mess that is Arsenal right now. They would never be sure which position they would play or if they would play at all if not in favour.

  1. I’d rather mold 20 yr old Chambers
into the kind of player we want.
    Kheidra has won everything so
lacks ambition and is injury prone now.
He has everything he wants at ‘drid
Why come and retire at wet old London
    playing for 4th place Arsenal?

    1. The closest thing to we’ve got to mold a Khedira, is Ramsey. He’s got the engine, the authority and the brain. But he lacks the physicallty and height.
      Chambers? pfff.

  2. don’t want us getting khedira and Losing him to injury or something, only to end up with another 30+ (in due respect to his current age) player anchoring the midfield after abt Less than 3 seasons …… Not saying khedira is bad…. But are we supposed to be looking for his replacement any time soon? ……Look on the Long term …… Or does wenger need a Learning manual to know this?

  4. Here is the cycle, make up some bullsh*t rumour about a player coming to Arsenal, next write an article about how Chelsea, Man Utd may interefer with that and lastly write an article with the players opinion on the transfer bullsh*t rumour.

  5. Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer on Khedira:

“The fans want to see people giving 100%. Khedira is one of these guys that have a lot of character…but you don’t get players like Khedira easily.
Khedira is the prototype of player willing to sacrifice himself for the team.
How many players are willing to do that today? Who struggle and fight selflessly for the benefit of their peers? Those are the questions that need to be answered.”

Sanchez is a fighter. I will love another fighter in midfield. If not Vidal, then Khedira. I think he will come in the summer.

  6. we need to pay top dollar to get top talent…..

if by paying 25-40m and 200-300k per week can strengthen the team

    we should do it…
