Lacazette on the move! Could he choose Arsenal?

Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he will be leaving Lyon this summer, and will be able to choose which club he joins.

The French striker has earned the right to be considered one of the most consistent goalscorers on the continent, notching up over 20 league goals in each of his last three Ligue 1 campaigns, totalling a huge 74 Ligue 1 goals since the beginning of the 2014-15 season.

Lacazette has been linked with big money moves to Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in recent windows, while West Ham are also claimed to hold an interest in his signature. You can rule out any move to the latter…

He has been a regular in the transfer rumour mill over the past few seasons, and bids were even claimed to have been made last summer, and he has now revealed that this close-season is the time for him to move.

“I want to discover new things”, the 25-year-old said.

“I think it’s a good moment to leave, despite all the goals I’ve scored I am still not known in the European football panorama and I want to answer people’s demands.”

Asked whether his next club will be Ateltico Madrid, Lacazette replied: “It’s a team that always get until the end of the Champions League, I will chose my club that’s what the president of Lyon has told me as well. My heart will be forever in Lyon.”

He would be a great addition to our attacking line, providing he could settle in England, but I can’t see any reason why he would fail in the Premier League. Lacazette has a broad skill set, and I think he would improve any English team’s attack.

Could we persuade Lacazette to choose the Emirates as his new home? How much would we need to pay Lyon to part ways?

  1. I think he will join Athletico Madrid or any other UCL team if Wenger is still our manager. We need new owner and top manager with ambition to sign world class players.

  2. I think he has agreed to join Athletico already, that’s another loss for us…#cantwaitforsummer#

  3. I think he has agreed to join Athletico already, that’s another loss for us especially IF we lose Sanchez…#cantwaitforsummer#

  4. If he is to choose between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, I think it’s pretty obvious where he’ll go.
He seems like a lad that has footballing ambitions firstly, so he’ll snub Arsenal for sure. Everyone knows Arsenal is kroenke’s milking cow and nothing more than that, not a football club, that’s for sure, as football clubs actually have footballing ambitions. I saw none of that at Arsenal ever since the lizardman took over.

  5. It’s very dangerous for any striker to move to Arsenal. Wenger will always select Giroud as his first choice so it could be demeaning being second choice to a lamppost

  6. This is a joke? Big players want to go to ambitious clubs who compete consistently at the top level.

  7. There’s no ifs buts or maybes… He is 110% joining Ath.Madrid.
    Mbappe is joining Real Madrid.
    Morata is joining Chelsea.
Lukaku is joining Chelsea, but they could bribe Arsenal into having him if they are prepared to let Sanchez join them (case scenario)

All in all, I can’t see any decent strikers joining us, unless you class Benzema as decent? And even he is a long shot without UCL football to offer.

  8. Who was the last good striker Wenger signed? I consider Alexis more of a wide player.
Eduardo was good but injury ruined him. Chamakh, Bendtner, Gervinho, Park were all flops. Podoslki also didnt worked. Theo is also inconsisitent and poor most of the times.
Van Perise was the last good striker at Arsenal. Giroud has done well for average striker but we need striker the most next season. Perez is not given chance at all and Wlebeck has been injury prone.

  9. I have seen enough already, for example a player in Vardy rejecting us which should fans make understand that we are nothing

    We are a big jk

  10. The fact that Sanchez seems unsettled at Arsenal sends a big message to any good player on the market today. No great player would be will in to join a club where the best depart, leaving deadwood. We have sank too low. Consider the rumour about Ozil to Fernabahce. How can one think of a player like Ozil leaving Arsenal for Fernabahce at this point in his career?! This shows how our stake in European football has shrank, courtesy of Wenger and his guardian, Kroenke.
We shall only sign world class players in gossip columns as long as those two dinosaurs are at Arsenal.

  11. I hope he goes to athletico he exactly the type of goal poacher we don’t need we need a belotti type goal scorer who can create his own chances and not too reliant on wingers

    Belotti 70mil
    Lukaku 50mil
    Alex sandro 14mil
