Latest Arsenal injury updates ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Arsenal football club has provided the latest and most reliable up to date injury news on our players ahead of the match with Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Aaron Ramsey will definitely miss the game due to the hamstring injury he picked up in the 1-0 win over Napoli in the Europa League second leg on Thursday night.

Sokratis, technically not injured but he will miss out as he will be serving the second of his two-match Premier League suspension.

Granit Xhaka has a hip issue and will be assessed ahead of the Palace game on Sunday.

Denis Suarez continues to struggle with his persistent groin injury and like Xhaka, will be assessed ahead of Crystal Palace game.

With regards to the long term injured of Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck all are progressing well. Bellerin is continuing with his gym based rehabilitation and strengthening post-surgery. Holding is coming to the end of his gym rehabilitation and Welbeck has started on-field rehabilitation, conditioning and ball work.

So, nothing that we did not know already to be fair which means that Unai Emery will have as strong a squad as can be expected to work with as we seek to collect all three points against the Eagles.

There is even the possibility that Ramsey may return before the end of the season and so all things considered, we are in good shape as we enter the most critical phase of our season.

Hopefully, we will not pick up any more injuries, especially to some of our key players, losing Ramsey is about as far as we can afford to go at this stage.

  1. I really hope Xhaka can recover quickly. I know, it is not a popular view her, but for me our best formation is, when we have Xhaka and Torreira together.

    1. I have to agree. I wanted Xhaka gone in the summer, but under our new manager he’s slowly improved over the season, and his partnership with Torreira is vital for us. I’d still prefer someone with more mobility, but we other areas deal with in the summer.

    2. Despite his lack of skills, Xhaka helps the CBs and the DM with his interceptions and tackles

Having a tough deep-lying playmaker is okay, but Arsenal need to find a better one that can assist and score in set-pieces consistently. I wish Arsenal would find one in the next season

    3. I agree that Xhaka has improved BUT from a very low base. He is still far too one paced and unaware for my likking. He is just about worth a place in this still patchy and uneven squad but personally I long for far better than him in the near future. All top players have pace and mobility and he lacks both bigtime.

  2. We also need Ozil fit and ready, without Ramsey I fear we will be lacking some good attacking options. As much as I like Iwobi and he has improved loads this season his final ball in to the centre can be pretty wayward at times. This is certainly something he needs to work on, as most of his assists tend to be from him taking on players and putting through a short pass rather than a cross.

  3. I want Ozil and Xhaka sold in the summer but I hope they start our remaining matches. We need them at their best.
