Latest Arsenal team news ahead of Everton game – Not much for us to worry about

Today is press conference day and the latest Arsenal team news have been revealed with the only real concern being late fitness tests for defender Laurent Koscielny and midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka.

The following players will be unavailable for the trip to Everton on Sunday, Lucas Torreira, who is serving the final game of his three-game ban following his sending off at Tottenham, Hector Bellerin is still out due to his knee injury, the same applies to Rob Holding who is also sidelined with a knee injury and Danny Wellbeck who is still overcoming his serious ankle injury.

It will be a blow if any of Ramsey, Xhaka or Koscielny fail their respective fitness assessments but nothing that we cannot comfortably handle.

Emery said in today’s press conference: “Good afternoon. We are waiting for tomorrow’s training, because some players – Xhaka, Koscielny – didn’t train with us today. They are working alone with the physio. Aaron Ramsey started training normally today and the other players are well.”

So as things stand right now, apart from the long term injured, there is just the uncertainty around Ramsey, Xhaka and Koscielny to be anxious about.

  1. Losing many main players is bad news, but do Everton lose many of their first team players as well?

Under this bad situation, I predict the line-up would be:

    ……………………………….Leno
    …………………Mustafi . Sokratis . Monreal
    Maitland-Niles . Guendouzi . Elneny . Kolasinac
    …………..Mkhitaryan ………………. Iwobi
    …………………………….Lacazette

    1. May I ask a question or is it just me but not having Granit Xhaka available makes us a stronger side ?
      In my.opinon

      1. Stronger if his replacement is a tempo dictator like Xavi/ Cazorla or a through-ball creator like Pirlo

Elneny showed some vision when given the chance to start more often. If he starts at the Goodison Park, I hope he uses the opportunity to show that he is better than the more expensive midfielders

    2. Think Ramsey will be fit and play..

Thinking we need to rest wingers at some stage but not tomorrow so agree with your picks. Maybe we need to consider back four versus Napoli with the Lich and Nacho playing wide of Kosc and Sokratis?! The Lich has lots of Italian and European experience thus AMN and Kol would be refreshed to run down Watford on the weekend!

On current form Oil got to play and would go with all guns blazing up front lol

    1. Can’t expect Soton to put up with Liverpool’s incessant shots

Liverpool have smoother roads than Man City in EPL and CL. I think they would end their drought in this season
