Lozano would be the perfect last signing for Arsenal

All Arsenal fans await the end of Uruguay’s involvement in the World Cup so that we can get on with signing Lucas Torreira, which, unless his father is the biggest windup merchant in the world, we will be seeing in an Arsenal shirt very shortly.

With Torreira’s arrival, plus Sokratis, Leno and Lichtsteiner already signed, and possibly Soyuncu, the Gunners should be totally sorted in the defensive areas, but what about our attacking posibilities? One brilliant star we have been linked with for some time is Barcelona’s Moussa Dembele but the chances of Arsenal actually getting him are extremely low, but there is a possibility we could get the new Mexico sensation Hirving Lozano, who impressed at the World Cup instead.

Player’s arriving from Holland don’t always make it in the Premier League, but the way that Lozano made mincemeat of the German’s I’m pretty sure that he would be an amazing addition to our flanks.

What do you think?

  1. We definitely need a wingers especially a left winger and lozano would be a good choice but the winger i want is Leon bailey. He is a brilliant player with a combination of physical strength, speed and technical ability, he is good at taking free kicks too. The problem is he would cost nothing less than 60million, it will hurt if another team in the premier league buys him, i know mancity are buying mahrez but i won’t put it past them to buy him as they seem to be buying all the good young wingers in the world. They have sane, sterling, bernardo silva and soon mahrez, but we have none because wenger couldn’t see the importance of wingers. Look at how mane and salah has elevated liverpool’s attack, ribery and robben, bale, asensio, vazques, willian and hazard etc. We need wingers to succeed, just look at all the top teams in europe. Unai needs to address what wenger failed to do.

    1. The good thing is that Unai seems keen to fill in the gaps the team has. The way he has sorted out the defense problem shows that there’s is a plan in place and they are not panic/random buys.
One of the main problem with the team was lack of strong mentality. The new defense includes seasoned captain and a vice captain who have won medals and participated in the bog stage. With these, there are also young defenders to learn and for the long term. Torreira is both of these, strong mentality and hunger, plus young.
With the progress so far, I’m sure he’s aware of the wingers problem. Don’t forget he tried to get Banega, an efficient CM. He knows what we need and he will surely address them.
Meanwhile, I hear Sven is unearthing some hidden gems..

    2. Agree on Leon Bailey. FYI Bailey is a dynamic left-footed right winger that can play as a left winger as well

We have a left-footed forward with decent pace in Lucas Perez, but he was not impressive when played on the right side at Arsenal. Perhaps Emery’s guidance and more playing time as an RW would change that

  2. lozano is probably $70M right so we wont get him or any creative skillful player. We will probably keep Perez and Torriera will come. Chambers Mavropo.. , the new dortumd broke with experience and a NEW COACH and i mean COACH , not manager and we can make top 4 and it would br a brilliant foundation for the MIGHTY Arsenal to attract new players.

    1. Yes, Lozano would be above thirty millions. If Arsenal have that kind of cash to splash on a winger, they better get Bailey or Malcom

To the author of the article, do you actually follow La Liga and Premier League? Because MOUSSA Dembele plays for Celtic, MOUSA Dembele plays for Tottenham and OUSMANE Dembele plays for Barcelona

    2. The way we value players here is ridiculous. A player that was bought 7m last season suddenly because 70m. How much did Roma got Kluivert for? It is less than 16m pound if I’m correct after he was valued around 50m when he was linked with Manchester United.

  3. Unai Emeri is a man of great vision actually he is like arsenal’s jesus and i believe before he arrived he learnt all mistakes arsenal had so he can answer our prayers . Lucky weee!!? Yeah!! .

  4. Don’t really know a lot about Lozano except what I’ve seen during world cup. Pacey, skillful, solid finisher, and defends. Great addition and replacement for Welbeck or Iwobi.

Feel better about Torreria after reading his father’s comments. Ivan or Wenger saying “he’s coming” still leaves me with doubts. When the father says Torreria is going to Arsenal because he’s given his word, it’s a “done deal.”

Just a jab towards previous posts discussing the words “done” and “deal.”

  5. I Would Love To See Him At Arsenal
    The Guy Is Good
Alot Of Wingers Are Out There
    Malcom 40m
    Bailey 35m Upward
    Gelson Martins Free
    Pavon 30m
    Guedes 30m
We Can Even By Croata Rebic
    Haha
    Beast

    1. I would give Perez a chance, we also need to give Nelson some game time. The one player from the World Cup that we could realistically go for is Yerry Mina of Columbia. Barca will sell or loan. It would enable us to sell Mustafi and Kos when he is fit again. I would honestly sell Xhaka and give Maitland Niles his berth. Use the money from selling those two to get a winger like Lozano.

      1. Yes I would ship out Elneny 1st, Bring in Carvalho on a free. Then Xhaka, use funds to add on to move for Chucky! Niles & Carvalho support for Torreira & Ramsey. If we need another midfielder we will have plenty of time left to do so.

Mustafi looks like he’s staying so no Soyuncu then as no contact has even been made apparently now!

      2. Totally I agree bro we must give a chance our young talent players either we look at new players we only see 2 matches
We know well the talent of Nelson or Niles also we saw that ability of ries nelson as the ability of mavaprons our young central defence
        Our new formation would like
        1 Leno
        Bellerin Sokorts mavaprons klasnic
        Rees nelson Torreira Xhaka niles
        Auby lacazette
        Or
        4 2 3 1 how you see bro

      1. Actually quite gutted with this one but it is what it is…. If Lozano is recruited then so be it but we need a winger badly maybe even two!
Any news on Carvalho moving from Lisbon?

  6. Unai/Staff ✔
    Leno/Cech ✔ Ospina still to leave. £5m
    Bell/Leich ✔
    Sok/Mavra ✔ Holding there also.
Cha/Must ✔ Rather Soyuncu than Shok.
    Kola/Nac ✔
    Torr/Niles ✔
Ram/Xha ✔ Elneny there, Rather Carvalho.
    Ozi/Mhik ✔
    Aub/Lac ✔

No wingers is the problem after we sort out what’s happening with Mustafi. This is exactly what we are missing, Nelson has potential but we need someone ready to go.

We are getting there as this is what we already have above so far.

    1. Sean, with you on most, but sell Mustafi, Elneny, Xhaka, Ospina, Wellbeck and maybe Perez then buy Lozano, Mina and maybe Carvalho on a free. Use Niles as Ramsey cover or alongside Ramsey with Lucas as DM. Further to this if Ozil does not work in the new setup you have Miki, Rambo, Niles, Nelson and Iwobi looking to play number 10. The players I suggest we sell are part of the problem of recent seasons and are not hard to replace.

  7. Unai seems to have a plan – even before he started. Let´s trust him to know what we need and to coach the players to their abilities. Player by player, we were´t too bad last year but the team didn´t function as a team. As such, even great players seem mediocre whilst good players look bad. Furthermore, we need to keep in mind the max 17 over 21/”not home-grown” players. Therefore, I expect us to sell Ospina although he´s a very good GK (as displayed during the WC) but with both Leno and Cech ahead of him, he´ll probably leave. As defenders, we have 10! above 21 year old of which 3 are home-grown; In midfield, we have only 6 of 1 is U21 and 1 of the remaining is home-grown. As strikers, we have 4 of which 2 are home-grown. Therefore, as per arsenal.com, we currently have 22 players in our squad (not counting on loan), 1 is U21 and does´t count against the 25 limit. But of the remaining 21, 6 are home-grown. As such, there is still room for adding up to 4 “over-age” players of which max 2 can be “non-home-grown”. What will Unai do with some of the more prominent players on loan: Martinez; Perez; Campbell; and Jenkinson? I´d say keep Martinez and Jenkinson who are both home-grown. Also, I kind of liked Perez when he got chances and we need a striker. Campbell has never done it for me. What is evident for me is that we need more midfield players. Torreira is likely coming, that leaves 1 open spot.

  8. I think i’s when Arsenal have concluded the signing of Lucas Torreira before or at the end of the ongoing World Cup that they’ll be in a position and ready to submit a bid for a top quality attacker signing whose sign on fee they can afford or leave it if they can’t. The striker they should sign should be of top quality kind that can score not less than 20 goals per season so as to improve goals scoring performance of the Gunners and not just sign a striker who at the long run out to be a passenger for Arsenal on the field of play. If Arsenal are not able to get a striker of 20 goals per season one, the possibility of them holding on to Welbeck for option and cover during the summer campaign will still remain as it was during Monsieur Wenger, the former Gunners boss era. And should that scenario plays out and if I were Welbeck, I would seize that chance to step up and start performing remarkably well scoring goals and giving assists in their nmbers for the Gunners to quiteten his consumers. But that depends if he has the technical capacity to do that.
