Madness… Arsenal bigwigs considering Ramsey out, Gomes in?

Arsenal are apparently considering Andre Gomes as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, with the Welshman supposedly eyeing a new challenge.

The central midfielder was one of our most consistent performers last season, and deservedly picked up the Arsenal Player of the Season award for the 2017-18 campaign. The 27 year-old is said to have been offered a new long term deal this week, with a five-year contract being mooted, but the player will need convincing it seems.

Unai Emery is claimed to be keeping tabs on Barcelona’s Andre Gomes, who is set to be offloaded by the Spanish champions. The Portugese international has struggled to impress in two seasons with the Catalan giants under two different bosses, and is now set to be shipped out in the current window.

Emery watched Gomes impress for Valencia whilst he was in charge of Sevilla previously, and must see him as an ideal replacement, but his arrival is apparently dependant on Ramsey’s future.

The future of Rambo will need to be sorted quickly if we don’t wish to miss out on the Barca star, with a number of teams around Europe currently being linked.

Personally I will be disgusted with the powers that be if Aaron Ramsey isn’t given the incentive needed to keep him at the club, a losing our best player this summer will simply be unacceptable.

Ramsey needs to be a player to build the team around, along with our exciting strikeforce, and I for one will be furious to see him go.

Is Ramsey too important to lose?
