Man City boss eyes Arsenal raid? That just cant happen…

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is claimed to have set his sights on signing Alexis Sanchez this summer.

The Spanish boss is set to take over from Manuel Pellegrini this summer, with only the DFP Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund left to play out with his current side Bayern Munich.

Guardiola was announced as taking over from the Chilean in February, but their were strong reports claiming the deal was done back in October, and he will have had plenty of time to eye up a number of targets to bring with him to his new side.

Alexis Sanchez is claimed to be on that list, and the Spanish boss will know all about the Arsenal forward having signed him for Barcelona previously.

The forward is believed to be reluctant to extend his contract in North-London, and reports that we are close to agreeing a deal to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan also leads me to believe we could be preparing for life after Alexis.

The Dortmund star has been credited with a combined 53 assists/goals this season, and does appear to be the perfect replacement for the exciting Chilean.

Regardless of us having lined up the Armenian forward, we simply cannot afford to allow Sanchez to bolster Manchester City, if we have any hopes of winning the Premier League title.

The Citizens have been the most consistent team in the league in recent years, and the new manager’s arrival is bound to attract some big named signings also. We simply cannot strengthen them in any shape or form, otherwise we may as well give up any hopes of challenging them next year.

Would Alexis assure Man City of next season’s PL title? Would Henrikh be able to make up for the loss of Sanchez?
