Man Utd and West Ham give Arsenal ALMOST perfect EPL day

I think that, if pushed, on what was best from an Arsenal point of view from the Premier League match at Old Trafford, Arsene Wenger may well have gone for a draw between Manchester United and Tottenham. But for us fans I think that our local rivals losing was even better.

I suppose that United winning moves them closer to Arsenal but they are still a massive 10 points behind and I do not think that this win will be the start of a serious assault on the EPl table’s summit, as they still look shorn of confidence and fluency and they only managed to scrape a win against the spuds.

I believe that Spurs are the most likely of the two to challenge for the title this season so them dropping three points is great for the Gunners and it leaves Pochettiono’s team seven points behind us. With Man City losing on Saturday it was already a good weekend for Arsenal and our title hopes, so the game at Old Trafford was a nice bonus.

The fun did not stop there though, because the same West Ham side that we took to pieces last weekend then managed to hold Liverpool to a draw at Anfield, so after last week’s shock defeat to Bournemouth, Klopp’s side have gone from the main challenger to Chelsea to being three points behind Arsenal.

It was so close to being a perfect weekend for us Gooners as well, with West Brom standing firm to deny Chelsea until one piece of Costa magic with 15 minutes to go gave them a narrow win. All in all though, could we really have hoped for a better set of Premier League results?

  1. Everton game on my mind. I really love to see how the prof will rotate the front 3. Alexis needs a rest from what I saw towards the end of our last match. He can start from the bench and get some minutes in the second half. But I don’t want Perez and Giroud to start at the same time. One of the them will do.

    1. Perez must start after his performance last week. Giroud should start where he has mosteffect. From the bench!

  2. The next three weeks is going to have a big effect on the title race and there are few teams around with the personel to rotate like we do.
Man City are already suffering from the loss of a few players.
Tottenham have bottled it as usual, and Liverpool have hit a big blip.
Who can hold their nerve more, Arsenal or Chelsea?Top at Christmas usually wins the League!
