Man Utd made a huge blunder over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Man Utd believed Aubameyang was too old and not worth his valuation.

Manchester United will be kicking themselves now when they look at how Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has thrived in the Premier League after they passed up the chance to sign him.

United was one of the teams who wanted to sign the Gabonese attacker. The Red Devils wanted him to fill the void left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

After scouting him several times, the club still decided against making their move as they believed he was too old. They also felt that he didn’t do well enough with his back to goal to command the £56m that Borussia Dortmund were demanding at the time, according to reports in the media.

The Red Devils settled for Romelu Lukaku instead. Aubameyang has since gone on to do greater things at the Emirates where he has netted 49 times in just 77 games.

United, on the other hand, have struggled for goals this season. Anthony Martial has been their top scorer since Aubameyang came to the Premiership. They have scored more than one goal in a game just twice all season.

Aubameyang helped Arsenal reach the final of the Europa League last season. He also helped to fire the Gunners above United in the league. It will hurt even more if Arsenal finishes ahead of United again this season.
