Manager linked with Arsenal urged by his own player to stay put

Rui Patricio makes it clear he does not want Arsenal target Nuno Santo to leave Wolves.

Arsenal may struggle to name a replacement for Unai Emery when they eventually decide to sack the former PSG boss.
Emery has come under serious pressure to deliver this season as his team continues to struggle.

The Spaniard has been given some games to turn things around or get the sack and there is a widespread belief that he can’t do better than he has done so far.

One man who has been tipped to replace him this week has been Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese manager led Wolves back into the Premier League last season and they finished inside the top seven on their first campaign back.

They have continued their impressive development under him as they are on the verge of reaching the Europa League’s knockout phase.

Arsenal is reportedly making plans to install him as their next manager, but he has been urged to remain with Wolves by Rui Patricio.

The Wolves goalie insisted that they need their manager to continue their upward development and added that it was important that he didn’t move away.

Patricio said, as per the Metro ‘For the club to develop and become greater it’s not just about the coach but also good staff behind the scenes. We have to work hard as a team and staff.

‘Stability is important at any club. Nuno is an outstanding coach and he’s also a leader. ‘It’s very important to keep Nuno at the club, not only for the players but for the club as well. ‘We have ambitions in this competition.’

  1. If Nuno joins Arsenal, he might need a tall target man like Jimenez. Aubameyang is pretty tall, but he can’t play like Giroud

If Aubameyang or Lacazette leaves, I hope Arsenal would recruit a towering monster like Bas Dost from Frankfurt

Arsenal don’t have plan B anymore after Giroud leaves. Since the Gunners can’t play with tiki-taka, might as well become a bit pragmatic by imitating Mourinho’s set piece tactics

  2. There is a very very scary story on LG about Nuno and Mendes the super agent. Take a look, it’s a long read but if true needs taking notice of. Admin, any chance you can put a link to it in here as I’m sure Pedro would be more than happy to spread the word?

  3. Have we tried Pochetino?

I’m sure it would be easier for us to convince a man who is not employed by any club than one who is.

Rather test the loyalty of a man who got sacked by his club, than one who is still employed by his club at the moment.

  4. Is still baffled me that Emery is still our coach up till today, well tomorrow is another day let’s wait and see

  5. Maybe the board need a bit of time to assess the options open to them regarding Emery’s replacement. A knee jerk reaction to the clamour to sack UE could prove to be counter productive. Maybe they should be given the benefit of the doubt on this occasion? The choice of the next manager could prove to be crucial to the club’s future. I cite what has happened at Man U as an example.

  6. If espirito is coming to arsenal, he should come with navas, Raul jimenez and this other guy that wears jersey number 8 (Forgotten his name).

Raul will be a good replacement for Auba if he moves to barca/madrid as being speculated.
