Moises Caicedo annoyed Mikel Arteta during Arsenal’s match against Chelsea

Mikel Arteta had expressed a strong interest in working with Moises Caicedo, recognising the exceptional talent the Chelsea player possesses. Earlier in the year, Arsenal made several unsuccessful bids to acquire Caicedo’s services from Brighton. However, he eventually made the move to West London in the summer.

The encounter between Arsenal and Chelsea marked Caicedo’s first match against Arteta’s side as a Chelsea player. During the game, Caicedo’s aggressive playing style, characterised by frequent tough tackles and fouls on Arsenal players, left Arteta visibly frustrated on the touchline.

As reported by Express Sport, Caicedo had a notable performance, particularly in the first half when Chelsea held the upper hand. Nonetheless, his physical style of play did not sit well with Arteta, who closely observed the game from the touchline.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Caicedo had every reason to be hard on Arsenal’s players, knowing what they could do if allowed to play their game.

We have some of the finest Premier League players in our squad and we could have won that game if Chelsea were not in very good form.

Football is a physical sport and we cannot dictate how Caicedo should play, but all his efforts did not earn Chelsea a win.
