Mustafi delight as he beats Arsenal team mate to Confederations Cup

The Arsenal and Germany international star Shkodran Mustafi will be celebrating today after helping his national team to lift the Confederations Cup at the expense of the Chile team including his club colleague Alexis Sanchez, who for now at least is still on the books with Arsenal but may not be for too much longer.

The first thing that the German defender, signed by Arsene Wenger for a tidy sum last summer, will have been pleased about was being in the starting XI in the first place, as the Germany manager Joachim Low had dropped the Gunner to the bench for the semi-final in which the Germans cruised past Mexico.

Mustafi was back on the pitch last night though and helped his country to keep a clean sheet, with a little bit of help from some wayward finishing. Our striker saw at least one very good chance go begging as Chile were probably the better team but could not make it count.

Mustafi is now the proud holder of a winners medal to add to the one he got at the 2014 World Cup and that can only be good news for Arsenal. Now let’s see if he can pick up one for the English Premier League title this season.

  1. Mustafi picking up a Premier league title this season? ?? What, is he joining City, along with Sanchez? ?? Just Kidding.com.

Sanchez went from hero to zero after missing a sitter, I read that he punched a wall afterwards, he probably mistook it for one of his old Arsenal teammates. ?

Anyways, Well done to Mustafi ?

  2. I’ve been a fan of AFC since 2003 which has been a pretty long time (not for as long as some of you on here though) and have only recently start to hear fans bickering over which category they belong i.e the AKBs and the AOBs. Please can someone be so kind as to tell me what that stand for?

    1. AKB – arsene knows best
      AOB – arsene out brigate

pathetic that a man that deserved to go out like a legend has become the man that divided the arsenal family. he should have step aside when he was still admired, cant blame some fans who are just sick of him though we kind of understand why some still adore him.

used to compare him with ferguson, that how much i rated him now he’s more like mourinho in such that some like him other hate him. though the change in system has given him a second breath and i would give him 1 last chance this season to at least properly compete.

  3. ….ooh and you remind me about my Arsenal; bergkamp, wiltord, ian wright, ljungberg, overmass, petit, viera, g. silva, ray parlour, lee dixon, martin keown, tony adams, david seaman.

  4. we should have bought Antonio Rudger instead of mustafi, nothing special about mustafi infact Holding and Gabriel are ahead of him in my book. And this guy Gabriel on his father over shadows Koscieny. Must is average but very high-spirited player he was overpriced

    1. I disagree with your book.
Mustafi was good enough to be included and play in the German World Cup winning squad and European Championship 3rd place squad
So he has to be better than average.

To say Gabriel and Holding is better is ridiculous. Holding is very good and I believe could be better one day

    2. Mustaphi was solid yesterday. IMO, if at all we should get another cb, ill love a back 3 of koscielny, mustaphi and rudiger. Those three will be unbeatable

  5. Check Gelson Martins out I know YouTube only shows the best bits but this guy has serious skills
