“My dream is to play for Arsenal” says Madrid striker

You probably will not have heard of young Real Madrid star Sergio Diaz, however he has openly come out to the media to call out Arsene Wenger into buying him.

Sergio Diaz is a current Real Madrid youth product, who at 18 years old is a very promising talent for the future. The Paraguayan is set for a move away from Madrid this summer after a lack of opportunities. Italian side AS ROMA are the most likely club set to secure the youngsters signature in the coming days, however instead of praising his new side, he has called out his ambition to play for Arsenal.

Speaking to RGS radio, an Italian radio station, Diaz mentions Arsenal and his ambition to one day play for the Gunners. Diaz said: ‘My dream is to play for Arsenal, which I’ve had since I was a child. My future? I am told my transfer to Roma is all but done. At the moment it is still very quiet. I do not know when I will leave for Italy but, in essence, my move to Roma has been confirmed.’

In all honesty he doesn’t sound all too excited to be moving to Italy with Roma and perhaps this is an attempt to get Wenger interested in a last minute bid for the youngster. However with Arsenal fans hoping for a few more experienced incomers joining the club this summer instead of more youthful players for the future, perhaps young Diaz will be unlucky in his quest for an Arsenal transfer. The youngster is highly rated however and so perhaps he is certainly someone we should keep our eyes on for the future.

  1. Everyone has a dream of playing for Arsenal when looking for a new club. Even Sanogo had a dream!!!Just ask a long list of players who have come up with such.

Wrong Sergio there, I thought it was the warrior Sergio the butcher Ramos for a sec.

  2. Exactly!
But I will say “everyone young, unproven player wants to play for Arsenal”…because they see us as a stepping stone to announce themselves to the world….

Mhikaryan said the same thing when he was 20+ but now he left a team in UCL to play for ManU..
His agent said he always loved ManU and Mhik himself said “playing for ManU is fulfilling fathers’ dream”

If there is heaven, most players won’t make it because they are blatant liars and cheats!

    1. whats a joke? as far as am concerned, any player who admits its his dream to play for arsenal of this era then is a player with no vision or urge of winning anything

  3. Why not try shopping at Bayern for a winger. There are 5 top notch wingers- ribery, robben,Renato, coman , Costa . Definetley atleast one of them would fall out of favour , most likely robben or ribery since the other three fairly are new to the club .
Also if we are keen for a winger then even James Rodriguez would also be superb, zidane isn’t using him much…

  4. What bothers me is since David dean left Arsenal AW misses the talent out tbere because he is just doing to much and should get back to winning ways and let the others run the club

  5. Hahaha…really???
So bayern will sell Renato that has not even been to their training ground to Arsenal????or the Costa they just bought last year….

Even Pep with all the financial support he has at Man city dare not go for Bayern players UNLESS Bayern are looking to ‘dispose’ the player…

  6. Doesn’t matter

For years Jackson Martinez said that he supported Arsenal as a child and would definitely accept if we came after him, but Wenger was never interested

Dreams mean nothing. You need to be talented AND the manager needs to want you
Martinez had 1 out of 2

  7. I’m not surprised Diaz (who?) wants to join us as I would imagine that Arsenal is a club that most players dream of playing for, more than even the likes of Bayern or Barcelona, because under Wenger players do not have to worry about their performances. They’ll get new contracts, and pay rise after pay rise for consistently under performing. If fact, things are so cushy at Arsenal under Wenger’s management, that even if a player has a chronic injury, and is never actually available, they will still get a new contract!
