Napoli team news and predicted line-up against Arsenal

Napoli have been boosted with the news that Lorenzo Insigne and Simone Verdi have been included in their squad to face Arsenal on Thursday.

Both players had been battling injuries with Verdi missing Napoli’s Sunday draw with Genoa, while Insigne’s fitness remains a concern despite coming on in the game at the weekend.

Amadou Diawara and Raul Albiol will both be missing due to injury, however, they do have Kalidou Koulibaly and Nikola Maksimovic back following European suspensions.

Also, our very own David Ospina, currently on loan to our opponents and eligible to play. He is fully recovered from his head injury suffered last month and is very keen to face his parent club, but that remains to be seen…

All things considered, Napoli will be able to field a very strong team, their main players are all available and manager Carlo Ancelotti will be pleased with the team he has brought to London.

The Italian will most likely go with a 4-3-2-1 formation with Hysaj, Maksimovic, Koulibaly and Ghoulam at the back, Callejon, Allan and Fabian across the middle with Mertens and Insigne just behind Milik up front, though Ancelotti may decide to go with the more flexible formation of 4-2-3-1.

Possible line-up

Karnezis
Hysaj
Maksimovic
Koulibaly
Ghoulam
Callejon
Allan
Fabian
Insigne
Mertens
Milik

  1. We have got to win by at least 2 to 3 clear goals at Home against Napoli because we all know how sh!t we are Away from home.
Napoli will win the the Return fixture at their place, so goal difference might be the thing that can save us.

I am so besides myself at how rubbish we are Away from Home. What the fck is wrong with the mentality if our cutie players?

  2. I’m expecting the tie to be a home win for Arsenal and Napoli because I don’t see any losing at home and both are quite strong at home too.I just hope Unai starts with our best squad and uses the 4-2-3-1 formation which has undeniably sen us play our best football. This lineup must include Torreira,Ramsey,Iwobi,Ozil,Lacazette and Aubameyang. Enough with this average three back system which barely suits our players.Look how Everton tore us apart defensively and the excuse is being made that the three back system helps us defend better.Hopefully we do the right thing and start with our best team.I see it as a 3-1 victory for Arsenal.
