New League rules mean Arsenal MUST sell some stars

Arsenal fans, or most of us at any rate, would be happy to see Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil put pen to paper on contract extensions to keep them at the Emirates Stadium for the next few years. The Chilean especially will be an extremely difficult player to replace and former players and the Arsenal fans want Wenger and the board to do whatever it takes to keep these key players.

Whatever it takes could mean a lot more than we previously thought, though, as the Daily Mail is reporting that Premier League rules on wages and the limit of how much they can rise from one season to the next will almost certainly force Arsene Wenger to sell at least two of the club’s other big earners in order to offer Alexis and Ozil the wages they want.

The current Arsenal players being linked with transfers away from north London include Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud, Kieran Gibbs and Wojciech Szczesny, while we have the likes of Theo Walcott on large salaries and he would surely interest a few clubs.

The problem is that we may be forced to sell to a direct EPL rival and that is never going to go down well with the Arsenal faithful, so which Gunners would you like Wenger to offload if needs must?
