New transfers or Alexis Sanchez the biggest issue for Arsenal now?

Ever since Arsenal completed and then officially announced the transfer of Alexandre Lacazette from the French Ligue 1 club Lyon this week, there have been an ever growing number of Arsenal transfer rumours about our Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez, with most of them saying that he is definitely going to leave the Gunners this summer.

This is not the only transfer issue that Arsene Wenger is having to deal with, though, as the boss also has to get some more players into the club, especially if Alexis really is going to be sold. There are reports linking us with Thomas Lemar of Monaco and Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City and I think either would be a good addition to the squad, but what should be Wenger’s priority right now?

Is it more important to get the new blood signed sealed and delivered before sorting out the Sanchez scenario, or is it more important for the Frenchman to focus on the contract rebel and either force him to stay, make sure he does not sign for a Premier League rival or simply get the best price we can for him and move on?

For me I think Wenger should make sure he has got his own transfer house in order as soon as possible and whether that be Lemar or Mahrez and any other positions he wants to fill then the sooner the better so Arsenal are as ready for the new season as possible.

If Alexis is going to Man City as many think then it might be a good idea to hold up the deal as long as possible don’t you think?

  1. Most importent thing right now is show ambition for Alexis and Mesut with buy quility players to the club and get rid of the dead wood!

  2. Yes

i actually think sanchez is class however, if he wasnts to leave lets get as much as we can. Buy quality and move on

    1. Yes but only sell Sanchez to an overseas club.
Also sell Özil. Oh hang on, no one wants him. Let his contract run out so he can move back to Germany with his family. He doesn’t love Arsenal and is only after money.

      1. Ozil bugs me no end
Balon d’or potential that never got filled

Suppose he has won la liga world cup an fa cups
        Not bad going

But it’s sad no.one wants him. That level of talent.
Shows u what could have been

        1. The problem is that he is lazy, doesn’t defend or play for his teammates when the going gets tough. He needs good players around him to make him look good. He and his family want to go back to Germany and he has named his three preferred clubs so he will leave on a free next summer.

  3. I’m a huge fan of his
We have this let’s be honest world class special talent. That alone makes some people watch arsenal
Same way they did for henry
But this media frenzy an his agent it’s beyond annoying.
U can see he hasnt integrated with team. No close friends here. hasn’t embraced city like mesut.

    Can’t see him staying.
But if he goes to city it’s rvp an man u title all over again
Is that 50 million really worth angering the fans. Weakening our status in eyes of other players an clubs.

This situation is a statement make no mistake

    1. Huge problem here though. Assuming we want to sell Sanchez overseas and there’s a huge offer or there’s a possibility to include him in Mbappe or Lemar deal, what if Sanchez refused to head over? And if we hold him down till the end of his contract, what if he chooses to go to City for free? Wouldn’t that be a double blow for us? Strengthening our opponent when they don’t have to pay a single cent?

      1. Fair point-

But IF he stayed. We’d have s great team. Genuine title contenders – isn’t that what he wants.

Maybe we would win the thing (EPL) he’d be mad to walk away then.

If we don’t have good overseas option for him, I’d risk keeping him. I admit it’s a big risk, but he is type of player to give 100% every game – havecto give him that.

And that’s enough. If Wenger only has 2 seasons left, he wants to win title – this is best way to achieve it

I say keep him – take the risk!

  4. No.point talking like sell him buy mahrez

Bloody hell have u watched them both?
Ur comparing a Ford to a Bentley

A 25 million player to a 80 million in true value
I’m.pissed off with him but I’m not gonna ignore how special he is a player cos of all this

  5. Sign mbappe and lemar first then we can now think on whether we would get rid of sanchez or not

I think should go for a DMF we have never had a proper Dmf since song left

  6. If he wants to leave let him. Not to City. No way. Never give a weapon to your enemy. Imagine City win the league and we finish second. Wenger is obstinate but not stupid. There is no way Sanchez will be sold to City. Sell him and buy William Carvalho to play alongside Granite Xhaka

  7. I pray Sanchez will stay, but I have felt he would be leaving well before the season ended because of the direction the club was heading, and who could blame him!

I think Arsenal already know he’s off, so that’s why they’re bringing in quality quickly to not only try and replace Sanchez, but to appease the fans anger. Losing Sanchez would be a monstrous blow, because I honestly feel he’s currently the third best player in the world, but losing him is something I’ve been prepared for for a long time.

It would be interesting to know that if Sanchez were to leave, did Wenger keeping his job have anything to do with his decision?

  8. Sanchez is a great player but wants to move so lets sell him. The mirror is saying that Arsenal is holding out for 80 million. That would be a good deal. Lets get Lemar and if we do get 80 million, we can go for invest it in the squad. Unlike the RVP situation , I don’t feel badly about Sanchez leaving. Our team is much better now and Lemar can replace Sanchez and we will have less drama. Let Pep deal with that head case.

  9. If it is to be City then we should absolutely wait for as long as we can to sell Sanchez. If we can sell him abroad with Inter looking like they might get in the mix then the sooner the better. I ultimately would like for the club to hold onto him and make him see out his contract but I just don’t see the club doing that.

  10. To sign new players should be a priority because Sanchez is hell-bent on leaving.
Forget about CL issue, am sure he’s asking for money Arsenal wouldn’t like to pay.
Why am I saying so? Bayern backed out because of wage demand. Bayern wanted him as he wanted to go there with his friend Vidal enjoying life there.
Get Lemar, Mahrez and one good other. Then keep him to run down his contract rather than going to City this term. I can’t really see a player than is a close friend to him in the team so there’s ego problem too. If he doesn’t want to commit himself 100% on the pitch if kept, then we have good players to stand in. We can’t be held to ransom for long.

  11. Both are the biggest issue, one feeds into the other.
Sanchez will go this window so we need to sell him soon not at the end of the window.
His comments are I want to leave right now,(probably doesn’t want to go to Oz, can’t blame him). We could do with selling right now especially as we asked citeh for 80m lol
We need to get lemar done if we are sure we want him then either try and sell sanchez abroad for a reduced fee or to city for loads of bucks.
If to citeh go for another big name aubameyang/mbappe still.

    1. Sanchez, until we hear differently, is still a contracted player until the end of 2017/2018. Accordingly he would be required to go on the pre-season tour to Australia. Like most people who have visited Oz, his only complaint would be that he couldn’t stay longer! We have a large ex-patriot Chilean community, who are looking forward to welcoming him.

  12. Let him go already. He won’t gel at city. Guardiola has a way he wants to play- tik tak. Sanchez doesn’t play that way. If he didn’t gel at barca how would he gel at city, if Aguero couldnt? He didn’t even gel here. Kills our flow; he and RAMsey… Let him go and end up like the Van-guy. Turkey awaits, Alexis!

To be honest, Sanchez would do better in a Maureenhio team than anywhere else.

  13. Hahaha wtf
He can see ur race thru ur ip address?!
    Admins powers know no bounds

Joey Barton career didn’t die for this admin
    Have a heart 🙂

  14. I honestly think Sanchez would sign a new contract with us if we spent more money in the right areas. If we got a Lamar and mbepe I feel he would sign up with us. He is defo gready and want money but I think titles is also important to him

  15. Let him go.. ….he shouldn’t be tying us down.. …money fron the sales can be used for another quality player

  16. Not Citeh. Not at any price. Bayern for free is preferable. If Wenger is trying to spin that Lacazette is a replacement, it won’t wash. It will have a huge negative effect on the fans and supporters, knowing we’ve empowered our rivals …AGAIN.

  18. Need not to worry about the situations of Alexis, Ozil & Oxlade because that’s going to be sorted out before the window closes. For me most important issue is Wallcot, Wilshere Coquelin, Jenkinson, Debuchy, Gibbs & Campell. I’m that all of them are going to be in the same situation even after this window closes. Wages paying without and returns.

  19. Alexis believes he is too big for the team, yes he scored 30 goals for the club last season. I see no reason why you will keep a player who will causing chaos in your team. Sell him either to city or any other club. And let see maybe he can command the kind of treatment he is receiving at arsenal or anywhere else.

  20. Players fee seems to b exaggerated this days therefore, we can also hold on for as much as we can get. I will prefer we don’t sell to our title rivals but if we must sell, then it should not be less than £80m. If he is so important to man city, then they should b able to cough out that sum. After all , Monaco are asking for same amount for a player we all know is not in d same class as Sanchez
