NLD win to mean Zilch If Arsenal don’t beat Leicester

Beating the spuds in the Capital One cup last night was just what Arsenal fans and players wanted in order to restore a bit of belief and enthusiasm in a season that has so far failed pretty miserably to live up to expectations.

Fortunately for the Gunners, no one has yet really taken the Premier League by the scruff of the neck and with the German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in our Champions League group, it was always looking like Arsenal would not finish on top and so that defeat away to Dinamo Zagreb is not necessarily a big problem.

As long as Arsenal carry on from this win at Tottenham the way that our former star striker Thierry Henry feels that we will that is. A report in The Mirror shows the TV pundit believes that winning at White Hart Lane should provide the ideal boost to take in to the Premier League clash with in form Leicester on Saturday.

Henry said, “It is massive, it’s huge. Let’s fast forward a bit. You don’t want to go to Leicester having lost that game.

“They won the derby, and you saw how they played. They fought well, they had character, it maybe wasn’t flamboyant Arsenal, but they just won at the Lane.

“They’re going to be buzzing, there will be happiness around the dressing room and the training ground, and that’s always better for them to prepare for the next game.”

It looks like being a tough test against the high flying Foxes, who Claudio Ranieri has got playing with freedom and fluency, as well as plenty of energy and a refusal to give up. So Arsenal will need to match their intensity and improve our own performance in some key areas.

Just as winning the north London derby was vital for Arsenal this week, beating Leicester is just as important and failure to do so will mean the boost we got from Spurs will have been wasted. So will Arsenal push on from here or not?

  1. I love the way Leicester play. Ranieri is doing a good job with his team so far. Having said that’, Arsenal should play with their hearts and be clinical. If we get it right, we’ll win… I remember we drew @ Leicester last season…

    1. Arsenal fans gotta be the most funniest beings on earth………… I see em drawing an outline of Arsenal’s 1st eleven against Leicester……… With fLamini now placed in a box-2-box role…. So funny L()L

  2. Leicester city is not a team to take likely, and going to the king power stadium wont be a cake walk stroll! We must play well with grit and determination, to try and grind out a win! Getting the 3 points wont be easy, but its possible with a good positive “game plan”!

  3. O.T. Just voted for Gabriel as Arsenal’s Vitality Player of the Month..would request all you Gunners to do the same..show Gabriel how much we appreciate him..

    1. Appreciate him for what? Getting involved in a petty argument that wasn’t even his fight? Then making it worse, getting sent off, losing the game and then losing it.

Sorry that day out cost me half a weeks wages to attend, if he wants my appreciation it will cost him half my weeks wages in return.

It would go a long way if he came and bloody apologised.

      1. I did like Gabriel fighting for his team mate by challenging that fool called Costa but he should have watched the referee. Our team have been too soft. Well, if not for the sending off, Chelsea wouldn’t have gotten a point.

  4. “Its in arsenal blood to win against totenham”-KING HENRY
For me our game against chelsea was just a robbery, we were robbed 3 good points, as wenger said we suppose to play 11 v 10 but we played 10 v 11 instead. So I mean we gonna win lechester hands down, that’s how confident I am.

  5. “There are those who just follow players, and there are those who actually buy them” ___Lamboley
    #NuffSaid.

PS: You know where Wenger fits.

  6. Wenger going through a divorce. Poor guy, let’s hope he can stay focused and not let it affect his work and the team too much. Leicester will be no walk in the park but I am confident we can get three points. COME ON ARSENAL

  7. Zilch? Leave it out, beating swampenham is always important, if you are a true supporter who lives in the area and attends matches that is.

I get it that for the armchair global fan it is all about winning the league or the champions league, but winning the local bragging rights means everything to us supporters.

Our welcome at that site hole last night showed how much they hate us, but we stood our ground, beat their tiny Tott asses then started helping with the demolition of theIrish craphole ground to show their is no hard feelings.

Bring on Ranieri let’s give him something to really struggle speaking with.

  8. Good to know people consider th Leicester game to be no easy gate pass…….. Our strongest eleven is needed to start that game…….. Anyone (be it wenger or fan) who thinks otherwise must be an……..

  9. Do not underestimate Leicester

They can beat us especially on their turf.

    Mahrez is playing fantastic football.
Albrighton, Dyer, Hardy, Schmeical, Dodoo, drinkwater are all decent players and work well as a team.

I would play our best possible team ie

    ………………………Cech
    Bellerin/Koscielny/Mertsacker/Monreal
    Flamini/Ramsey
    Oxlade or Walcott/Ozil/Alexis
    Walcott or Giroud

  10. Nothing but a win will do again this weekend! Its olympiacos n utd next at home… 2 huge games lets hope this spuds win lifts the confidence October a tricky month also but should take wins from:
    Watford (A)
    Sheff wed (cup)
