NLD win to mean Zilch If Arsenal don’t beat Leicester

Beating the spuds in the Capital One cup last night was just what Arsenal fans and players wanted in order to restore a bit of belief and enthusiasm in a season that has so far failed pretty miserably to live up to expectations.

Fortunately for the Gunners, no one has yet really taken the Premier League by the scruff of the neck and with the German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in our Champions League group, it was always looking like Arsenal would not finish on top and so that defeat away to Dinamo Zagreb is not necessarily a big problem.

As long as Arsenal carry on from this win at Tottenham the way that our former star striker Thierry Henry feels that we will that is. A report in The Mirror shows the TV pundit believes that winning at White Hart Lane should provide the ideal boost to take in to the Premier League clash with in form Leicester on Saturday.

Henry said, “It is massive, it’s huge. Let’s fast forward a bit. You don’t want to go to Leicester having lost that game.

“They won the derby, and you saw how they played. They fought well, they had character, it maybe wasn’t flamboyant Arsenal, but they just won at the Lane.

“They’re going to be buzzing, there will be happiness around the dressing room and the training ground, and that’s always better for them to prepare for the next game.”

It looks like being a tough test against the high flying Foxes, who Claudio Ranieri has got playing with freedom and fluency, as well as plenty of energy and a refusal to give up. So Arsenal will need to match their intensity and improve our own performance in some key areas.

Just as winning the north London derby was vital for Arsenal this week, beating Leicester is just as important and failure to do so will mean the boost we got from Spurs will have been wasted. So will Arsenal push on from here or not?
