Official Arsenal lineup to face Man City, Freddie going on the attack

Official Arsenal lineup – Freddie names an attacking lineup.

It seems that Freddie is going to take the game to Man City this afternoon at the Emirates.

Man City are vulnerable at this moment in time and the best way to take them on is by being attack-minded. That appears to be the attitude of interim manager Freddie Ljungberg.

The Gunners are fresh from a Premier League win against West Ham, whereas the visitors are coming off the back of a loss to fierce local rivals Man Utd.

A win for either team will boost their flagging confidence significantly, while a loss could have far-reaching consequences.

  1. One thing that’s sure to happen in this game:
    1. One of Sokratis, Luiz and Niles will commit an error leading to a goal.
    2. Gendouzi would as usual hold onto the ball for too long many times.
    3. The Leno, defence and midfield will recycle the ball amongst themselves, make errors and invite pressure while attackers are starved of service.
    4. Ljumberg will be reactive rather than proactive with his substitutions.
    5. Ozil will shy away from contests.

        2. Sorry it is not being negative rather being realistic and honest people need to say the truth. This team from the board to manager to players lack what it takes to beat Man.City, Man.Utd, Liverpool or even Leicester either home or away. That’s the bitter truth and the moment we accept it the better and the urgent right steps being taken to overhaul the club.

        Thought as an Arsenal fan, you should know by now these players are incorrigible.

        1. those who do not accept the facts you mentioned are living in cuckoo land.Plain and simple.We just do not have the resources to win against the top 10. That is the reason top coaches said no to the job.Do I have to name them? The club is in shambles and we need a complete overhaul.Changing the coach is pointless.

  8. I am worried about Spurs digging out points. They are now 3 points within Top 4. I may be criticized for this statement. I feel we should have appointed Mou early enough. Top 4 will be a top task for us this seaaon. Chelsea, Spurs, Man United, Leicester, Man city and Arsenal all fighting for 3 spots.
    The board should show some form of seriousness. Either appoint Ljungberg till the end of the season or appoint a permanent Manager asap. We need clarity and direction. Nuno Espirito, Ljumberg and Arteta should be the 3 candidates for the position. As a club, we are too slow in make decisions.

      Mou preferred the Tottenham job. Much easier with their squad to achieve something short-term.
      Nuno would not leave Wolves mid-season. Arteta – we don’t know.

      The main mistake was not firing Emery before the international break and finding a good caretaker manager until the end of the season.

      Oh, BTW, this lineup is probably the best we have at the moment. Have to give Freddie at least that.

    Spurs won in injury time at Wolves (New manager bounce?)
    Utd had a home draw v Everton.
    If we win today Freddie will get another chance at Everton.

  50. Told you many times that Chambers is NOT a CB! Fulham finally realized that and reassigned him as a CDM, but it was too late for them

    Jesus was too fast for him and Man City’s first goal was created from his cross. Then their second goal happened after De Bruyne nutmegged him to cross to Sterling

    Chambers has to play as a CDM in 4-3-3 formation, because he was excellent there at Fulham. Only Martinelli could stand out in the first twenty minutes

  54. Our goals conceding these few weeks shows a clear lack of positional awareness. We often outnumber the opponents so we are making the effort but then no one takes the responsibility to close down or tackle.

    Our forwards are also guilty of not pressing the opponent as defending starts at the top.

    Guendouzi too light weight not putting enough effort to intercept ball but looking to pull an opponent down, and then falling like a paper at the slightest touch.
