Official Arsenal team to face Lyon and live stream update

The first pre-season game at the Emirates for Arsenal as they welcome French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in the Emirates Cup.

This game comes after a successful mini-tour to the USA and a good crowd will be looking for the momentum to continue following three wins and a draw in the States.

Surprisingly there is no first start for new signing Dani Ceballos and no start for Mesut Ozil either. It is good to see Willock start again and a return for Guendouzi.

Not sure about Mkhitaryan and Xhaka starting but who knows, they may surprise us today.

Overall, that looks like a decent lineup, let’s hope that the defence does us proud today as well.

The game is live on pay-tv channel Premier Sports TV and kicks off at 15.15 UK time.

Links will be put in the comments where to watch the game live and free so keep checking in.

Also, if you go to the official Arsenal website you will be able to get live commentary text

  1. Admin Martin says:

Here is the first live stream, careful with the ads

    1. Subi says:

Thanks alot for the streamlinks. Could you please link all season? Haha. I’m from Norway and it’s too expensive for me to pay to see live PL. Or maybe give a tip about a good site

  2. Innit says:

    Interesting line-up
No Mustafi and Ozil is good

  3. Lenohappy says:

They said khedira is at the emirate not trying to say anything am just saying what I read online.

  4. Ade says:

I believe the coaching crew is testing something out

  5. kev says:

Visit for any football match. The only disadvantage is the ads you’ll initially see but once you’re done closing them everything is fast and reliable. No problems

    1. Raja Danish says:

kev any update on pepe and especially tierney? i am really about tierney what is the latest news about him? when will he be unveiled as an Arsenal Player?

      1. Raja Danish says:

      2. Whkfan says:

        1-0 auba

        1. Jo Gunz says:

And some wants us to sell him

      3. kev says:

Tierney will go through barring any hijacking from other clubs and pending medical.
Pepe barring any hijacking will be an Arsenal player.

        1. Raja Danish says:

when will they be arsenal players?

    2. Grandad says:

I cannot believe Emery continues to play Mik and Socratis who contribute precious little for the team.

    3. Subi says:

Thanks for the tip! Quality ok?

  6. gotanidea says:

Thanks @Admin Martin and @kev for the links

I think Emery would use 4-3-3 or 4-1-2-1-2

  7. Declan says:

Game might be on YouTube too, give it a try if other links fail.
Regarding the team, I’m a little underwhelmed that Mhiki, Sokratis and Nacho are playing as wanted to see some of the youngsters.

  8. Abbas says:

Nice through ball by Guendouzi there to Willock

  9. Lenohappy says:

    Lacazette injured.

    1. Alee says:

And some people were saying we should sell Aubameyang.

  10. gotanidea says:

Arsenal always play well when there is no hard tackle and intimidation from the opposition at home

Xhaka still could not release himself from a tight space and he could only create forward passes when he was not surrounded

Looking forward to Ceballos’ action. I hope his playmaking is one level above our midfielders

  11. rkw says:

dont miss mustafi … though defence just doesnt look solid … xhaka should not be within a thousand mile radius of an arsenal shirt … static weak and zero vision … slows down midfield gives time to opposition … willock looking decent but tbh he needs a full year somewhere in my books to gain confidence … some nice touches by nelson and guinduzi lively in the middle .. want to see cabellos on for xhaka

  12. Lenohappy says:

    1. ozziegunner says:

Wasteful finishing again by Arsenal should have been 4-0 up by half time.
Lyon 2-1 with 10 minutes to go. Martinelli goal ruled out for off side. Aubameyang miss by inches from difficult lob.

  13. Innit says:

Aubameyang doesn’t look like he’s slowing down. I think the combination of Aubameyang and Lacazette can give us a nice tally of goals this season

I hope Pepe (if he comes) and Ceballos can help them with assists, crosses, through balls

  14. Adajim says:

This guy Auba has really settled to our style of play. Its a shame he came to us late, guy would have almost broken Henry record

    1. Ronche says:

He could still break it?. He ain’t slowing down

  15. Raja Danish says:

    kev tierney is confirmed?

  16. Lenohappy says:

@Adajim, i was thinking the same thing if only he has been with us when he was around 24 he would have easily broken Henry records, I know some say he only score tap in but the guy is so good when, I will actually choose ahead of laca anyday I know most people prefer laca but doesn’t strike me as a player who can score 20+ goals a season in the premier league, if only arsenal had a very good winger last season auba could have easily scored 30+ goals last season.

  17. Nero says:

The wings belong to pepe and reise nelson…considering how well Nelsons played today..

At least the sticks iwobi gets would be lessened.

    Willock looks good.

Guendozi proving a point..same as nketiah

Mihki..fantastic today..tomorow could be another story

I hope laccas injury isnt serious..

  18. Innit says:

    Sign Dembele please

  19. Declan says:

I’m surprised anyone wants to join us after that shit !

  20. Sean Williams says:

    Guendouzi excellent….Xhaka useless

  21. ozziegunner says:

    FT Lyon 2 Arsenal 1
Some promising performances, but the game lost due to too many wasted chances to score and lousy defending of a corner kick,
