Official – Arsenal’s Spanish striker Lucas Perez joins Wilshere at West Ham

We all knew it was going to happen, but at last we have our first official deadline day deal as Lucas Perez leaves Arsenal to join local neighbours West Ham.
The BBC reported….

West Ham have signed Spanish striker Lucas Perez from Arsenal for a reported fee of £4m.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Hammers, having spent the last two seasons with the Gunners.

He is Manuel Pellegrini’s ninth summer signing and their second from Arsenal after the capture of Jack Wilshere.

“I’m very excited, as West Ham are giving me the chance to stay in the Premier League,” Perez told the club’s official website.

“I’m very happy to be part of this new project. West Ham have great fans and play in an amazing stadium, so to sign here brings me great joy. I’m very motivated.”

So he joins Our Jack down the road in East Lindon. Are Arsenal really going to sell Danny Welbeck as well?

  1. I don’t think Welbeck will be sold. Nobody wants him outside England and he’s one of our only options for wide (although he’s not a winger).

Get Quincy Promes now! We are desperate!

Also likes of Campbell and Jenkinson are on +40k a week and they are not suited for PL. So who’s going to offer them wages like that? NO ONE. And Jenkinson’s contract is until 2020!! Another brainfart by Wenger.

    1. its just laughable how some always blame wenger.. do you guys think all the other employees from arsenal have no responsibility and have no work? and that everything related to arsenal is done by wenger? one could thinl wenger is the owner and ceo of arsenal

      1. Wenger was SOLELY responsible for transfers. When asked about Arsenal hiring a director of football last year, he replied:

“I’m manager of Arsenal and as long as I am manager, I will decide what happens on the technical front,” he added. “That’s it.”

There was really no one else responsible for transfers or contract extensions before Raul, Sven and Fahmy arrived.

        1. I agree with McLovin, Wenger wanted the Dictatorial role and that’s what he got. One of the main reasons why 90% of fans wanted him out

    2. I saw some Quincy Promes’ matches, not just a YouTube football skill video that only highlights his best moments

In my opinion, David Neres is more promising as a left-footed right winger. But I’d prefer Leon Bailey or Wilfried Zaha (albeit he is right-footed) than both of them

      1. Zaha at £70 millions is a no go..

Bailey would be great though, Neres as well. They are both still one season wonders though, they would be a huge risk. Let us remember Eredivisie seems to be quite weak league. But Bailey impressed me playing the way he has in the Bundesliga.

Promes has been scoring regularly for 5-6 seasons now. Surely he can’t be that expensive if ie. WC star Golovin went for £20 millions.

  2. There goes our last left-footed winger

Bought with 15M, sold for 4M

Gazidis and the other businessmen at Arsenal have done another brilliant deal again, like what they often do. I would be surprised if Kroenke keeps those office politicians next season

    1. Actually gotanidea, Lucas Perez cost £17 million. If Arsenal had bought a player of his stature for £4 million, I would say great piece of work by our recruitment team.

  3. It’s like we enjoy selling our players for nothing. Can I get Ospina to play Sunday league for my back pocket change? Liverpool can sell their backup/backup goalkeeper for more than we sold Perez. Who is negotiating these deals? I know they are on the last year of their contracts, but they are just so laughably low. Especially Ospina who has a great international reputation and is worth several times more than what we are asking.

    1. Buy Jenkinson for peanuts.

Give him a new, undeserved contract with huge salary.

      Loan him. He gets injured.

He’s back, no one wants him. Why? He’s on freaking 40k a week for 2 more years.

This is how Arsenal FC has handled the business so far. Our team still has several players on long, hefty contracts.

  4. Jack is only player from Wenger s boys that I trully respect. All these others Welbacks, Ramseys, Jenkinsons, Perezes,… are freezed at Arsenal like pussys… they know that they are not good for our team but their ego can not let them be men.

  5. this is crazy i prefer rez han welbeck god his finishing sucks now he will be 27 and eno improvement
