Official teams and preview of Arsenal v Burnley

It is absolutely vital that Arsenal keep their recent improved run of results going with a home win against Burnley today. But almost as important as picking up all three points is for the players to build on the last two wins and start to find their fluency going forwards and their solididity in midfield and at the back.

As usual, Arsene Wenger has plenty of injury problems to worry about but he should still have more than enough quality to put the bottom club Burnley to the sword, especially as their confidence must be abysmal after failing to register a win since being promoted to the Premier League at the end of last season.

But the Frenchman has resisted the urge to make any changes from the away win at Sundertland last weekend, so Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey remain on the bench, while Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini both start in the centre of the pitch. It also means that our Spanish left back Nacho Monreal gets the nod at the heart of defence with Calum Chambers on the right and young Bellerin missing out again.

The Gunners need to start fast and get right at the struggling visitors and if we do that then it could be a goal fest. With the likes of Walcott and Ramsey on the bench as well, Burnley should be in for a long and painful afternoon. And we might even see Yaya Sanogo get his first senior Arsenal goal!

    1. Podolski, Rosicky and Joel will not be getting game time this season. podolski to be sold in january, Rosicky will leave end of season for maybe MLS, or even Dortmun for one or two seasons. Joel, well if he can’t get ahead of the lazy, fat Chamberlain then there is no chance for him when Walcott and Gnabry return is there. he will be loaned out for 2 consecutive seasons and then sold like Vela.

      Manager brings losers mentality by starting out of form carefree casual players.

  13. A mediocre manager will always reward below par players game after game. He really must’ve thought we played well last week to start with the exact same lineup, when we hardly created chances, even our counter attacks fell apart because of our own players.

  14. I guess Wenger is sticking this lineup only for defensive issues, otherwise if we play more attacking, then we might learn a lesson. At this point, we don’t have defensive strength so two DMs would be helpful.
    After Koscielny backing up, I guess we will definitely see a change.

  17. I actually wanted the same line up as last week to see if they will play andy better and with alex more in the middle. The only thing i actually hate is wenger is slow to make adjustments or does not make any at all when the formation is not working.

    Hopefully get some early goals to allow some changes early in the second off, so that some of the players can get sometime on the field

  53. I would’ve replaced Cazorla in the summer when we still could’ve made some money out of him. Now we are stuck with him and his terrible form.

    How OX is starting again is beyond me, he can’t deliver to save his life. This in mind, why the hell is he giving corners? He’s not even half the player Walcott was at his age.

    Shamefully this match has draw all written over it, 1-0 at best. FC Sanchez is playing again so those who came to see Arsenal should be refunded.
