Ozil tipped to make surprise January move

Mesut Ozil is one player that Arsenal cannot wait to see the back of. The German is one of the club’s top earners, yet he hasn’t played for them since March.

The Gunners tried to shift him in the last transfer window, but they were unable to achieve that. He has been sidelined from their team for this campaign.

Despite no hopes of him playing for the Gunners again this season, the German has maintained that he wants to see out his contract with them.

However, Arsenal might get a big help with offloading him in the next transfer window.

This is because a Fenerbahce congress member has hinted that the Turkish side is working on a deal that would take him to Turkey next month.

Murat Zorlu claimed that he has it on good authority that the former Real Madrid midfielder is moving next month to the Turkish giants.

He told Sport Digitale via the Sun: “A source, who’s very well connected to the club has told me that Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window.

“I would say 90 per cent he will join us in one month.”

  1. Why would Fenerbahce sign him in January when they can have him as a free agent in the summer?
Unless Arsenal is willing to pay him off and in that case an EPL club will be his preference since he wants to stay in London.
