Perez perhaps but Campbell a certainty for Arsenal exit?

There is still a good chance that the Spanish striker Lucas Perez will be playing his football for someone else next season, as he certainly will not be playing much at all if he does not get the summer transfer away from north london that he has made clear he wants.

Really it is just a matter of finding a club willing to pay the transfer fee, which will not be a lot, and his wages, but for now that has not happened, so even though The Mirror is reporting that Arsene Wenger has taken away the number nine shirt from the Spaniard and given it to his new striker signing Alexandre Lacazette it does not mean for certain that Perez will go. In fact he has been given a new shirt number, 28, so we will have to wait and see on that one.

One current Arsenal player who has no number at all, though, and therefore seems a nailed on certainty to be heading for the exit door this summer is the Costa Rica international Joel Campbell. As reported by Metro the 25-year old’s time as a Gunner is surely u7p after he was given no number after returning from his season long loan in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon, especially as before that he had the number 28 which has now gone to Lucas Perez.

Who else will be heading out of Arsenal as well as Campbell?

Bob.

  1. seems like the midfielder we will be signing is one of our very own Oguzhan Ozyakup . he has a one year contract with Besiktas and he just confirmed he doesn’t mind coming back to Arsenal . in fact, he’d relish the chance and he lives Arsenal

  2. Yup, Campbell, Jack Wilshere, Wojciech Szczęsny and Calum Chambers were not included on Arsenal Direct with the rest of the players. The connection between the four seems to be that they were all on loan last season, but it could also be a hint that their futures are currently undecided.
Campbell is still currently away with Costa Rica on international duty.
The Metro were reporting that Galatasaray are interested in a potential £2.6m switch.

  3. I read that Wenger could let Debuchy go on free transfer.

I think Debuchy, Jenkinson, Lucas, Campbell, Gibbs and Szczesny will leave us.

Not sure about Wilshere, Chambers and Ox.

  4. According to Sky Sports:
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing West Ham’s 17 year old Portugal youth international starlet Domingos Quina.

Well, There’s no other reports on Mbappe buying/ leasing a house near Monaco’s training complex. If the story about him staying put was true, then surely there would have been more reports on it by now?

  5. Whoever made it in or out should receive maximum support from the fans, cause that’s what will push the team to winning the title this season.COYG???

  6. I wish the best for Campbell – he deserves to get his chance at another team. Always liked him, played great, just didn’t get the chances

    1. if he was as great as some of us Arsenal fans made him out to be, he would have gotten more minutes at Sporting . but instead he was warming the bench . another overrated lad

  7. Love to see Mahrez at Arsenal, Lenar also be great

I think Mahrez is better player, and def more riven in EPL-

But I can’t see the formation with him in team. Lamar appears can play more centrally and is competing with Ramsey

Where as Mahrez would probably replace Walcot (who didn’t get on pitch after formation change I think)

Is this why Lemar is Arsenals focus?

  8. Which ever way it goes, get the Mahrez/Lemar lad signed up ASAP.. and if possible… . Another signing?

    1. I would prefer Arsenal to keep Perez over Campbell, due to his better goal scoring and assist record when given the opportunity. Due to the number of games Arsenal have to play we need squad depth and options. Perez wasn’t expensive for player of his caliber and Arsenal should not sell at a loss given the current market.
