Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not committed to Arsenal long term claims report

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang will wait for Barcelona move before considering new Arsenal deal.

Arsenal may be set to lose their top scorer Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the not-so-distant future as the Gabonese striker looks to play in the Champions League again.

Aubameyang has been arguably Arsenal’s most impressive player since he joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund, however, his 40 goals in 60 league games have still not returned the Gunners to the Champions League.

The newly-appointed captain had spoken about the frustration of the team not keeping clean sheets earlier in the season and he may be looking to leave now.

Reports from Spanish media outlet Sport is claiming that Aubameyang won’t consider a new deal from Arsenal until he has waited for Barcelona.

The same report also claims Barcelona know that Luis Suarez is in the twilight of his career and they are already looking for another attacker that would play alongside Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

Aubameyang won the Premier League Golden Boot, last season and is also the Gunners top scorer in the league so far this season with eight goals.

Well, that is the speculation covered and to some extent, it does make sense. Aubameyang is two years younger than Suarez and would be a fairly cheap option if you consider his contract would only have one year left on it in the summer.

I do not blame Auba for taking this position, I probably would do the same considering the circumstances.

But it does not get away from the fact that he is clearly not as committed to the club as we would wish. That is not a criticism, just a fact.

  1. Love Aubamayang but I believe he is not now committed to us. He went on strike at Dortmund to get his move and he’s not committed himself to us now because he wants to go to Barca. As much as I think he’s one of the best and most entertaining strikers to play for us he should be told, “sign or resign”. If you don’t want to play for The Arsenal, sorry, on yer bike.

    1. Agree. Same can be said about Xhaka and Torreira. They clearly want out, and neither are irreplaceable. Even Aubameyang, whose loss will be a big blow, is replaceable. There isn’t a lack of top strikers in football right now. Shame he will probably go for free, yet again. I remember the club saying they wouldn’t allow that to happen again. Another lie. No surprise.

      1. There isnt a lack of top strikers? So who do you realistically think we could replace him with? I cant think of many viable options.

  2. Seriously I would say allowing Auba leave and securing Lacca to a new deal would be ideal.
Lacazette’ would be able to give more than Auba in years to come and moving Martineli top right. I bet y’all we’re still good to go

  3. Why was he given captain armband? Again, being shipped around as a bargaining tool instead of actually being a respected position.

  4. The comments of Torreira’s agents add the Uruguayan to a list already containing Aubameyang, Lacazette, Leno, Xhaka, Özil & Bellerín in the form of players who are being linked with potential exits. Rather than replacing Emery it would appear that we’d rather lose half the squad.

  5. Neither Xhaka nor Torreria are indispensable but Auba. is a different kettle of fish. That said, once his pace drops, and it is likely to within the next year or two,he will lose a lot of his potency.I like Auba , but if we were offered 60/70m I would take the money.

  6. I don’t blame him, he’s 30 years old and not playing in the champions League no chance of winning the EPL and Barcelona are sniffing around! What would you do?

  7. I don’t blame him. If winning the golden boot doesn’t see your team in the top 4, what will then? He should do better than waste whatever left of his career and go someplace where his contributions will actually see some fruition.

I felt this in Auba’s several games, he looked very demotivated and lacking belief in what he’s doing. Also Torreira. These 2 will definitely leave. Then probably Ozil, Leno.
