Problems for Arsenal from England win in Germany

As an England fan as well as an Arsenal fan it was great to see the three lions come back from two goals down to beat Germany 3-2 in Berlin, but there were some aspects of this very entertaining game that are cause for concern from an Arsenal point of view.

The main one was the performance of the Tottenham players in the England team, with both Harry Kane and Eric Dier scoring goals, the striker’s in particular was very good and shows a player brim full of confidence and not looking like he will falter during the Premier League run-in.

Danny Rose and Dele Alli also played well, even though the latter spurned two great chances, so I expect they will go back to White Hart Lane in confident moods. And just to give Arsenal another blow in our hopes of a late surge for the Premier League title, the Leicester striker Jamie Vardy came on and scored a beauty with what I think was his first touch.

Meanwhile Mesut Ozil had a game to forget. The German was not awful but he could not influence the game as he would have liked and to be perfectly honest he looked a bit jaded. At least Danny Welbeck had a good game for England, but even if Arsenal win all the remaining games in the league we need the two teams above us to mess up. Does that look likely to you guys?
