Should Arsenal give up on Cech and move for Hart?

Petr Cech has come under fire from Arsenal fans in recent weeks, and we are now being linked with a move to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City.

The England Number One was discarded by new City boss Pep Guardiola at the start of the season, supposedly because of his distribution, and has spent the majority of the term on loan with Torino in Serie A.

We are now claimed to be in line to fight Liverpool for his signature, while their need for a top goalkeeper is ultimately much higher than ours.

Petr Cech and David Ospina are both ‘World Class‘ according to Arsene Wenger, but he has clear favour of the Czech goalkeeper over his rival, and the former Chelsea star’s record speaks for itself, having the most Premier League clean sheets ever as well as achieving 100 PL clean sheets in the shortest appearances.

Some fans have moved to Social Media to ridicule Cech following the defeats to Watford and Chelsea, and there is nothing to defend about the concessions against the latter.

Joe Hart has proved to be a top goalkeeper over the years and at only 29, still has his prime to come, Man City’s boss Pep was certainly quick to overlook him, and his decision to bring Claudio Bravo in could not have gone any worse.

I firmly expect the Citizens to be looking at bringing in another top goalkeeper in the summer, with the relationship unlikely to be reconciled in my opinion, but whether City would allow him to strengthen a rival is yet to seen.

Would Hart be the ideal replacement for Cech? Is the English shot-stopper better than Ospina, Cech and Wojciech Szczesny?

  1. Total rubbish, it’s a pity Arsenal fans cannot see the errors of Koscielny and Mustafi as centre backs. To be honest, even that hazard goal and that of Watford game cech could have done nothing for the goals. When your defenders are not at alert, goal keeper will be in danger. And for Hart???? No way, bcs Ospina has a better technique. There’s difference between performance on media papers than performance on the pitch. If u don’t know, Hart has conceeded more goals than cech this season. Stop blaming Czech, rather blame your shaky 5 & 6.

    1. That’s the problem, you’re right. It’s not all down to Cech, esp the type we give away. The two in front of him can be called to account. And the one’s in front of those two they can blame for not properly protecting. Same with fullbacks, CB’s can blame them, then the fullbacks can blame the midfielders for not doing there job. The CMs can blame attacking players for letting them get outnumbered. It’s a collective thing.

I read Conte this morning talking about a corner that we had when Kante failed to help out Moses, leaving him isolated with us attacking or playing short.

The little things become big things. When I read what he said and how he could murder someone who doesn’t listen, I immediately thought of Ozil Walcott Iwobi.

  2. Not interested in player transfers anymore till Wenger is here. Without a good management even Reals and Barcas would struggle.
Look at chelski and spours.. Its all about managers. Look where they were before and where they are after they got the right manager. I think Manchest and citeh have better players than Chelski but Conte placed right players at the right position in a right formation with right mentality. He is making even avg players look world class.
    Thats the difference….

    1. It is about the club as a whole.
Pep has people at City that get deals done, like he had at Barca and Bayern.

When Wenger 1st joined we had Dein who had good contacts, now we have Ivan Gazidis who is Silent Stans yes man.

      Look at Spurs?
Spuds have an owner who is willing to get players, that is the difference. Look at how many managers they have had… remind everyone how often they finish above Arsenal…. Now GTFO with the spud loving.

  3. I am all for continuously improving our squad but I am (1) not convinced Cech is done and (2) believe there are not many keepers available who are better than Ospina. I don’t think Hart is better than Ospina.
