Super Sanchez backs Arsenal to end another ‘inconvenient fact’

Arsenal have been putting right a lot of problems over the last few years; ending the nine year wait for a trophy with back to back Fa cups not being the least of them. Arsene Wenger and the lads have also answered a few questions and proved wrong some doubts that were being aimed at us by the football press, like when we changed tactics and played on the counter attack to win a game against a big rival way to Man City.

The Gunners have already been at it again this season, pulling out our best performance of the season so far to beat Chelsea with style and end a long and rotten without an EPL win over them. Just as bad as that run though, if not worse, is the terrible stat that shows we have not beaten Manchester United in the league at Old Trafford since Adebayor scored the only goal of the game in 2006.

In an Arsenal.com report the manager admitted that this was another one of those problems that the Gunners have had in recent years and that he was especially disappointed not to end it last season after thumping them at the Emirates.

He said, “Yes, it’s another inconvenient fact. We have not won for a while at Old Trafford.

“Manchester United are traditionally one of the strongest teams in the league and, although we beat them convincingly last season at home, the away game was maybe the one in which we faded.

“It was a key moment in the season, a key game of the season and on the day we didn’t produce the performance we wanted to. When we speak about inconvenient facts, that is still here, and that’s what we want to get out of our system on Saturday.”

One Arsenal player who is confident that this fact will soon be a memory is our Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez, who the Evening Standard reports talking about the stronger mentality and determination to win that the squad now has.

If Alexis has anything to say about it then Arsenal will definitely beat Man United and he also suggested that his understanding with the club’s other superstar Mesut Ozil could have a major say on tomorrow’s result.

Sanchez said, “We’re playing with a mentality that we want to win everything and become champions.

“We are taking it step by step in terms of our fixtures and ambition but we are not conceding many goals. That is a good place to be.

“We have more desire to achieve something big by winning the Premier League. We have a great side, we are very ambitious and we want to win the title.

“I get on the best with Ozil. I enjoy playing with everyone but I get on even better with him. We don’t need to say anything to each other, it just takes a glance.

“Having a player like Ozil in midfield and doing one-twos with him is fantastic because he is a quality player going forward. He helps me and also makes me improve.”

The forward also revealed that he is really enjoying his new central role, but will he fire the Gunners right back in to the title race and end another poor run against a big rival tomorrow?
