Super Sanchez gives Arsenal timely FA cup fitness boost

This is the good news that Arsenal fans have been waiting for, as we have had to hope that the lengthy injury list at the club did not inflict too much damage on our hopes of Premier League success this season. And with our first FA cup game of the season coming up just days before we travel to Anfield to face Liverpool, the timing of the return of Alexis Sanchez could not have been better.

Metro are reporting that Arsene Wenger has been extra careful with our super striker in order to ensure that the Chilean international is properly and fully fit and is not in danger of suffering a recurrence of the hamstring problem he picked up at the end of November.

But now Alexis is said to be ready for action and so the boss is planning to bring him back to face Sunderland on Saturday. This is great news for Arsenal and Sanchez and it also allows Wenger to hand our magical midfielder Mesut Ozil a well earned break, which the report says he is set to do.

If this report is correct then would you expect Alexis to come in as a direct replacement for the German play maker in the number 10 position?

  1. Can’t c that happening no way will wenger throw him in from the beginning, oil I wouldn’t mind being benched along with nacho, bellerin, kosc, & giroud at the moment with the injuries & lack of quality to replace with think the above are due a rest.

Mind u I wouldn’t go as far and think that wenger nit have them on bench now that would be a assume risk. Subbed on if necessary Theo & Ox,Ramsey really need a solid performance along with gibbs n debuch all have in my opinion some more so shocking seasons.

  2. Sanchez will need to play some part against Sunderland,
To boost up match fitness for the Liverpooh game,
who by the way have lost Courtinho to a hamstring injury tonight!

I’m sure that wenger will rest alot of our key players,
Theres talk of Jeff Adelaide starting after scoring two goals in the last U21 game.

    1. Also Lovren and Toure limped off!

So far Coutinho, Lovren, Toure, Sakho, Henderson, Skrtel, Origi, Sturridge, Ings, Gomez and Flanagan are injured. Wow, that list is longer than ours! Who is fit to face us is another story.

  3. Excellent news, although Metro source doesn’t add to its credibility. If resting Ozil and taking extra care with Sanchez is true, given the player rotation expected for Saturday, I’d say well done Wenger. The squad is being handled well.

  4. Its a wonder there was no article on Aubameyang, he has missed a training session it was said and the club is talking to suitors. Don’t know if the second part is true because we have heard stuff like this before like when Benzema missed training session.

Looked up your man Elneny and must say he has one hell of a pass on him, he fires the ball across midfield and over defence like a Petit or an Alonso. I wanted to see his defensive ability but GK is the only position you won’t see forward play on youtube. I like his agility and pace he looks strong too, he’s not the destroyer some people want but knowing Wenger like we do he might well have found us a gem. I don’t think his signing is just because of situation we are in right now with injuries as I believe Wenger has one eye on departures in summer time.

Needless to say I think if it is us looking to snatch Aubameyang and we pull it off along with the Neny well then everyone will be smitten.

    1. You obviously haven’t seen the long range goals Elneny scores either ?
As long as wenger doesn’t do the same thing as he did with Gabriel, Us fan’s will be happy with Elneny.

    2. As for Aubameyang, all that was said was that he missed training for a personal reason (appointment)
Nothing was mentioned about club talking to suitors!

My theory was that a medical could be classified as a personal appointment without letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

      1. Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has fuelled speculation over his future by missing training today.

The Bundesliga side returned to their training ground this morning after their winter break, but Aubameyang was absent.

Given that the 26-year-old has been linked with transfers to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in recent weeks.

According to Sky Sports, a club spokesman claimed the Gabon international was absent from Tuesday’s training session “for personal reasons”.

@indykaila The reason is pretty well known in fact: He missed training due to a personal appointment. Will be back tomorrow.

But the mood among the squad seemed to indicate that Aubameyang’s future is in the air at the moment.

Speaking after today’s session, defender Matthias Ginter said: “We all hope he’ll [Aubameyang] stay.

“He’s very important, on the pitch and off, for what he contributes to the group atmosphere.”

Aubamayang is currently the top goalscorer in the Bundesliga. He has scored 18 goals in 17 league games so far this season.

He joined Dortmund from French side Saint Etienne in 2013. He came through the youth ranks at AC Milan, but did not make a senior appearance for the Serie A side.

        1. It was said that Arsenal in particular had an intermediary speaking with Dortmund and it was said that there is more than one suitor. The Sun unreliable that it is has said this along with one or two other sources mentioning as much. This is why I said not willing to believe it but at same time the Mirror is the first I seen report Elneny which is proved to be correct.

      2. @Fatboy Gooney
Or he could have had a medical at LFC. Which makes more sense, considering Klopp was his old manager…

        1. Anything is possible mate,
There are apparently 4 premier league clubs after him,
But it would be magical to have a striker at Arsenal that resembles Henry ?

What dissapoints me is Wenger’s failure to sign these type of player’s when they were available for 10-12 million a year or two ago!

  5. BREAKING: KingFut can confirm Mohamed El-Nenny has gained international clearance, set to finalize #Arsenal move.

This Egyptian site was the first to announce that Arsenal were signing Elneny, a few days before anyone else!
So I consider this latest news as reliable.

Arsenal will probably make an announcement on Wednesday.
This means that Elneny could feature against Sunderland, as Friday is the deadline for registering the players to take part in this game.

      1. Yes … Exactly!
For some reason Arsenal do their transfer announcements on a Wednesday! ( I’m pretty sure)
But If they don’t then feel free to xxxx me off tomorrow night!
        ?

  6. So it seems the fight for Aubameyang is between us and United. Hope our champions league participation sways him to us. COYG!

    1. Also, we have a stronger chance of winning the PL than United
and we are in CL every season. Since Wenger has been in charge
we have always been in the top 4
We also treat players very well
Also London is better than Manchester

If we are going for him, he would be better off coming to us

  7. sanchez coming back doesn,t mean ozil will be rested/put on the bench, wenger has already stated that ozil was on light training plus the boys are getting rest this week, even if he is selected for the fa cup clash he,ll be well rested&rearing to go!!
