Swansea hoping to continue being an Arsenal ‘bogey team’

The Swansea City team were only promoted to the Premier League 6 seasons ago, but amazingly in that time Arsenal have only managed to beat the Swans on two occasions at the Emirates, with 3 losses and a draw to the Welsh minnows. These results always seemed very unlikely according to their League positions but for some reason our star studded sides somehow contrive to pick this match to play like relegation contenders.

As usual, Arsenal are the side in form, while Swansea are flirting with the relegation zone and have only one win (against Huddersfield) in the last 6 League games, but that obviously means nothing in this fixture. The Swans defender Angel Rangel is looking forward to seeing the ‘spirit’ that has helped his team to gain unexpected points at the Emirates in the past to come back into play tomorrow afternoon.

“The team spirit is always something that has been important and strong at Swansea City,” the veteran defender said. “We know that when things are difficult we will stick together and get through it. We will show character and a strong spirit and unity on the pitch at the Emirates.

“We have a good record there and although we have had a tough run of results, we will go there determined to get something for our fans.”

Swansea currently have the same amount of points as Everton, who Arsenal trounced last week, so we should expect the same sort of result in this weeks game, but things don’t always work out the way we expect….
