Today’s Arsenal transfer rumours – Some good, some bad

A little light today with the transfer gossip, well, it was first thing in the morning but as the day has progressed there has been a drip of speculation coming from our beloved media.

In fact, it is not all about players coming to the Emirates, some reports have players that may not be coming despite our interest. Let’s start with players that we are rumoured to be interested in.

Genk’s Leandro Trossard is appanetrly a player we are looking at, according to the Metro. They are claiming that the 24-year-old is a possible option in the event that we do not make Denis Suarez a permanent signing.

In the same report, the Metro also claims that 23-year-old Boca Juniors’ Cristian Pavon is another player we are considering, again as an alternative to Suarez.

The Daily Star has reported that we sent scouts last night to watch Cagliari’s Nico Barella play against Juventus. That would be the third time this season that we have watched the 22-year-old, so our interest is certainly solid.

We have apparently given up all hope of signing Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, according to Football.London, though that was cited as a reason for our interest in Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser, so not sure that is real gossip.

Finally, another player that we may be set to miss out on is Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico states Talksport, though, if I am being honest, I am not sure this is as up to date as Talksport would like us to think.

So that is it for today, three players we are after and two that are unlikely to be arriving in North London this summer, well not to us anyway.

  1. Please i don’t really want Fraser at arsenal…..arsenal shouldn’t joke around because even if we make top four next season be sure remaining there would be tough if we don’t act smart in the transfer market…we need quality and not quantity…..fraser can go to everton…we need wingers with guile, drive and tenacity

  2. – Trossard: Good stats, but he could be a real gem like Hazard/ Lukaku or another fringe player

    – Pavon: Okay stats, but one of the worst wingers in World Cup. Arsenal should stay away from this one

    – Barella: Don’t know why Arsenal chase another creative midfielder, since they still have many and Suarez is cheaper

    – Fraser: Good stats and EPL proven, but could be expensive

    – Tagliafico: Looks good, but better buy a younger LB like Grimaldo or Tierney

    1. We have a game in hand though….. I wonder why we had to play on Monday, if we had played during the weekend, like Man U and Chelsea, we could have played midweek too… well, we’re still in the driving seat anyway, just that we can’t afford any slip ups.

  3. i’m sure we need a couple of home-grown products, we should buy at least one to replace ramsey and welbz! a lb would be the easiest option in my eyes or a gk

  4. was just reading the article on sky about the comparison between our stadium and the scum…why is it that the only thing that upset me was they hired an amazing chef called Michel Roux jr!! i know i really need to stop thinking with my belly…. also when i head to the away game i’m a still a loyal fan if i ate there? these questions need answers 😉

    1. Sal, for a billion pounds to pay for their stadium, they need every penny they can get…take your own packed lunch, a bottle of tap water and don’t buy a programme..

To be honest though, it does look amazing, yet according to their own attendance figures, they didn’t fill the stadium to capacity!!

I wonder where they put the trophy cabinet?
Probably hiding it in the broom cupboard.

Transfers? I”m still enjoying UE’s first season and he will no doubt know who he wants and disregard all the media tripe…just as we should.

      1. Spot on Ken; too much happening with the current squad and the run to the end of the season, to worry about transfers.

  5. fraser will be a fantastic addition. he’s got pace,he is very strong,he creates good chances in fact,he’s been the highest in creating big chances with 21.I first noticed him against Liverpool 2 seasons ago when he came on and changed the game enhancing Bournemouth to come back from 2 goals and win.

  6. I know a lot of people are not happy with the Fraser rumour but i actually am. Yes we may get better rated wingers, but most of those dont have grit. And he actually is very underated. Only Hazard has more assists than him. He is strong AND pace, something you cant say about a lot of wingers. I would only let go of this wish if Unai says he wants Cornet. Then would gladly say, worth it.

Both excited and scared about the next few games. COYG!!
