Unai Emery gives his feedback on impressive Nicolas Pepe

Unai Emery is confident that Nicolas Pepe’s season has just started.

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, is confident that Nicolas Pepe will begin to show his best form for the Gunners after his moments of brilliance off the bench in their last game.

Arsenal was on the verge of consecutive defeats at home to Vitoria Guimaraes when Pepe was introduced in the final 20 minutes.

The Ivorian scored two stunning free-kicks to turn the game in Arsenal’s favour. That was his best game for Arsenal after a slow start to his career at the Emirates. Emery believes that sort of performance will be more consistent from now on.

“On the pitch, he is feeling better,” Emery said about Pepe.

“On Thursday to play 20 minutes, scoring two goals and help us win the game is important for him and for us.
“Hopefully in training on Saturday and in the game on Sunday he can keep moving ahead.”

Pepe has struggled to get going this season but fans have remained patient, well, for the most part.

Next up for Pepe is the Premier League game against Crystal Palace. He will be coming up against his fellow countryman and the player Arsenal wanted to sign, Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha was the difference the last time these teams met. This time Arsenal fans will hope that Pepe can steal the show.

  1. I think Pepe is one of those players that have come from a different league and will need time to settle and get upto speed and physicality. The guy has obvious talent and im sure with time, he will prove that. The two free kicks the other night were absolutely fantastic and apparently he had been practicing them in training. Which shows he is trying everything to get confidence and get up to speed with the prem.

  2. Pepe will come good, he’s too talented to not adapt to this league, and if we’re honest then the PL is a lot like European leagues these days, it’s not as different physically as it used to be. I’ve heard fans say this and I agree.

This season we have to finish in the top four, it is not helping in the slightest when fans say sack our manager like we’ve been hearing since he took up the post. Are his chances of finishing in the places bad, I don’t think so, so until I see us all at sea, I believe it is counter productive to start this s**t up again, are you guys even fans I have to wonder, I know some of you will be but am not sure what the percentage is. Gradually I will want to see the team gel a lot more, and I understand it takes time for foreign players, and it takes time when so much change has occurred. The top four is what we’re hoping for no matter who sits in the hot-seat in this season. I believe Emery will get us there and then the guys in the boardroom will weigh up all the options and make the right judgement/decision.

    1. I agree BOT, i think there is a lot with this team that isn’t right and we do need to improve but slagging the manager off everytime he takes a breath and blaming him for everything when we are two months into a season and blooding young talent in the process, like we haven’t seen for a while is needless. If we dont improve our position in the league this season and dont win the Europa, then i dont see him manager next season anyway but lets just see where this season ends at least. Its a little boring that every post you read on every site, gets turned into an anti Emery post, when the original post had nothing to do with him. Its not that brilliant at the moment but in truth it ain’t that bad either, lets see how it pans out.

  3. At least Unai didn’t say he was very happy with him 😂😂

Another goal or 2 will do nicely. Will we get to see PAL?? Hmmm….

  4. Aubameyang is consistently good and so is Martinelli.
Lacazette has been injured and this is a worry.
Pepe will come good but might take a full season.
Unfortunately the rest of the team is weak due to the mess left by Ars$ne Wenger
who ran the team into the ground, 360 mill in debt and in to the Europa League.
Because the midfield and defense are so weak due to Wenger’s mismanagement
the attack does not get the service to utilise their talent.
If we can offload the Greedys ME-$$t O$il and $Hein-Rich Richatarian in January we might then be able to afford a quality DM and AM to give better service to our front line
7th in the league and quarter final EL would be a great result.

    1. Stop blaming everything on Arsene…

Emery’s team has following players Leno, Luiz,Sokratis,Teirney,Guenduzi,Torriera,Pepe,Martinelli,ceballos(9 players)…Laca + Auba though were wenger’s signing are fan favorite and world class….

So that’s 11 players for you which are Emery’s player and yet you prefer to blame Arsene wenger. What’s wrong with you man.
