Unai Emery is being blamed for the depressing atmosphere at the Emirates

Report claims there is a bad atmosphere at Arsenal because of Unai Emery.

Arsenal’s struggle to win games on the pitch is threatening to cause even more problems for the club as a whole with players and staff fed up having Unai Emery as their manager.

Unai Emery has failed to inspire the team to a win in any of their last six games in all competitions.

This run of form has seen the club fall down the league table and they are currently eight points behind the top four.

The Gunners are, however, close to reaching the knockout stage of the Europa League, a competition that Emery has built his reputation as a manager and led them to the final last season.

With winning the Europa League the surest route for Arsenal to reach the Champions League next season, there is supposed to be positive energy around the Emirates but that is clearly missing at the moment.

The fans were the first to turn on Emery and they have been demanding his sack for a while now, but Express Sports is reporting that the players and non-playing staff at the club have joined them.

The report further claims that the mood around the club is getting worse and this is mostly because Unai Emery seems to be given a pass by the board despite his team doing badly at the moment.

This is really not a huge surprise, not winning creates bad atmospheres and that is generally down to the manager. It seems that this is so deep that even if Emery masterminds a run of wins that he will still be unable to turn the tide against him.

  1. Yes, the manager is the most responsible person in a team. That was why Pochettino was fired

I bet Arsenal are trying their best to find Emery’s replacement

  2. You guys wont believe what I just saw on the road in Nairobi Kenya, “Emery out” written on the back of a vehicle hehe. This manager has depressed people all over the world.

  3. He cant solve the problem even if you give him the whole year to do so and that is Unai Emery. Let him go we dont need any excuses any more.

  4. OT:

Honestly I’d prefer we give Freddie Llumberg a try till the end of the season and then appraise him, as it seems a little bit of passion for the club is needed for a manager to excel. I remember Freddie got this fight and fierceness about him during his playing days here, and it gives me this tingling feeling that he may surprise us all.

But whoever it is, for now, till January, we must play 433 at home and maybe 4231 away like most bigger teams do.

    Auba
    Martinelli Lacazette Pepe
    Luiz Torriera
    Tierney Holding Chambers Bellerin
    Leno

Auba needs to be in his preferred center position up top where he is deadliest.

Laca as a 10 has the quick feet, dribbling, shooting, passing, ball retention, tackling, workrate skills to effectively play as an attacking midfielder/playmaker playing just behind Auba, attacking and also assist ing with tackling, pressing and winning the ball back in the midfield.

Martinelli has the quick feet, dribbling, crossing, heading, direct, tenacity and shooting skills to trouble defences especially through the wings and cutting in.

Pepe, we can’t buy him for that amount and not consistently play him in to form, he must get use to the epl with time especially if he sees Martinelli do very well opposite him, he will come good with time, he has to learn when to dribble, shoot, pass or cross. Few touches is the key. But he has the quick feet, dribbling, direct, pace, shooting and positional skills to trouble defenders, he should also learn to switch flanks from right to left.

David Luiz for now is the best player in the team to play as our DM. He has the height to win headers, he has the fierceness to win tackles, he has the requisite long range passing and shooting abilities and experience to stay put in front of the back four and dictate play. Guendouzi is too slow and hangs onto the ball far too long, unnecessary amount of touches, he is still lean and inexperienced. Xhaka is too immobile and lacks the pace and ball retention skills. Torriera is too diminutive and easily shoved.

Torriera as a CM, is perfect like a Gattuso, he can win balls and still drive forward pushing our attack. Though I’ll prefer Ceballos when he’s fit at home and Torriera away. Why can’t we just start by actually playing people bin their preferred positions and buy to cover the positions we are obviously lacking.

Tierney is way better than Kolasinac. So he owns our left back position. Kola can deputize.

Bellerin is in poor form, we ought to buy a deputy or a replacement soonest.

I love british defenders, they r often no nonesense when it comes to defending. Am going with Holding and Chambers. They r friends, they have impressed the few times they played there together. Their partnership can’t be any worse than Luiz and our WWE wrestler. They r young and can only get better if properly encouraged and nortured. Holding and Chambers has the height, ball control and tackling sweeper skills to do great together until we go into the market to get Upermecano, retain Saliba and probably sign a tall defenderbl like Torres or Rugani or tall british pacey no nonsense defenders that enjoys defending like Dunk or Duffy.

Leno and Martinez honestly should rotate. They r both at par with each other.

But most importantly, we must play: direct play, quick direct football, one touch passes, quick movements on and off the ball, quick transitions, early crosses into the box, high pressing, and shelve passing from the back.

We must strengthen this January, we need a DM, AM. CM, DF and Winger.

We can easily Loan AM CM and DF:

AM: D Costa (Juventus)[Played best as an AM at Bayern]
    CM: Emre Can (Juventus)
    DF: Rugani (Juventus)

We can buy DM and Winger:

    DM: Dacoure (Watford)
    Winger: Deulofeu (Watford)

Am no coach, but my candid opinion as a die-hard fanatic.

    Many thanks y’all.

  5. The atmosphere is no surprise. Hasn’t fixed the defense, chops lineup every week, no identifiable style, and cowardly defensive setups even against lowly opposition.

Rather than fix the defense he’s determined to reshape Arsenal even though fans and players obviously against it.

Raul seems content to allow it despite our regression. He needs to end this before it’s too late and it hurts future recruitment.

Feels like excuses being made rather than holding Emery to a standard.

I remember at the end of last season, a pundit said if he were to be Arsenal he’d simply test Brighton with 50million for both Dunk and Duffy and we would be absolutely sorted defensively.

Leno and Martinez honestly should rotate. They r both at par with each other.

But most importantly, we must start playing direct football, quick football, quick one touch passes, no unnecessary touches and sideways passes, quick movements on and off the ball, regular forward runs, quick transitions, early crosses into the box, high pressing, and please shelve that useless passing from the back rubbish.

  7. A number of good nuggets to digest in
    a very informative post.

Unless Raul is able to secure one
    of Allegri, Rodgers, or Nagelsmen
(HIGHLY UNLIKELY) in January than I
agree the reigns should be handed
over to Freddy L for the duration of
the season. He would be the prefect
    transitional caretaker for the squad.

    Arsenal DESPERATELY need a young,
Top Class CB in January REGARDLESS of
the cost. Any of the following would
    be fantastic additions.

    Upamecano
    Ruben Diaz
    Nathen Ake
    Umtiti
    B. Kamara
    L. Dunk

    Socratis should be sold(if possible)
or given his outright release in
January, his days are finished @ the
    Emirates. Mustafi, Holding and
Chambers would battle it out for
    the other starting CB position
opposite the new recruit in January.

    AFC unfortunately would never
entertain that many loan moves in
January and only Costa would be a
    significant upgrade. I do however
LOVE the idea of Doucoure bossing
the midfield next to Torreria for
years to come. If Xhaka is moved
on for decent money either the
    Watford man or Ibrahin Sangare(
    Toulouse midfield monster) should
    be seriously considered.

My only other nit is imho Bellerins
days as Arsenals first choice RB or
RWB are numbered. Even prior to his
extended injury lay off the Spaniard
    has never consistently impressed me
on the pitch. His skill set, and
    tactical acumen are borderline
pedestrian and it seems his passion
    for fashion has transcended his
quest to be one of the best backs
in Europe. He wouldnt be considered
a top ten RB in the EPL atm, and if
    there is legitimate interest from
    Italy AFC should seriously consider
moving him on. The young American
impressing @ Ajax would be a terrific
long term solution @ the position.

My team following the January window

    Freddy L

    Auba
    Martinelli..Laca…Pepe
    Doucoure(Sangare)..Torreria
    Tierney..Upamecano..Mustafi..Best
    Leno

  8. Everyone associated with this club is responsible for the atmosphere good or bad but because Emery is the manager, he will cop the blame. He is the fall guy and that goes for every club. Slagging the manager off is easy pickings, when all around also have a part to play also. It is upto the fans to raise the team as well but when they dont, we cant blame them for not doing their job, or the players for sulking, or the guy who picked the manager in the first place.

  9. So theres a bad atmosphere because of Emery! Whoever would have guessed! There is no evidence of this. Not unless you count hardly any players trying full out. No players being sure of what to do, some wanting out, some stars refusing to commit to new contracts, a lack of shape, lack of energy, lack of pace, huge gaps between all the team departments, shipping in goals and shots at our goal galore, a restless crowd who nearly all want Emery out, thousands of empty seats, daily papers and fan sites constantly speculating who will be the new manager and Emery being the clear bookies favourite in the manager sack race. Beats me how anyone can have noticed there is a bad atmosphere. And THAT fellow Gooners is how to write top sarcasm!
