Video highlights Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal including Aubameyang sublime goal

It may not have been a classic, but at the end of the day, Arsenal collected all three points away from home and kept a clean sheet. What is there not to like about that?

It was a workmanlike performance from Arsenal and that is no surprise when so many of their flair players were not available and the weather would not have helped either.

Anyway, enjoy the official highlights provided by SkySports.

Arsenal’s next game is against Burnley on Saturday 17th at the Emirates and the chances are that it will be a very different team to what we saw against Newcastle today, as Emery didn’t start with hardly any of our new signings. “I explained that the circumstances are different,” Emery told Arsenal.com. “David Luiz did pre-season with another team and he is okay to play physically but he only trained completely with us yesterday. On Friday he did 30 minutes with us. I was thinking to give them confidence to work together because they were working well together, Sokratis and Chambers.

“Nicolas Pepe came one week ago and physically he needs to get his best fitness to be ready to play 100 per cent for 90 minutes. I think that today 20 minutes is good for him.

“Ceballos is in the middle because he came before Pepe but he got an injury and he stopped training. But he needs to know the Premier League, so today was important for him and for us.

“I also used Reiss Nelson and Willock because they deserved to be with us and to give them confidence can help us. It’s the same with Martinelli, he played the last 10 minutes because he deserved it.”

So we won anyway, despite the weakened team, and so the season begins….

  1. Auba is an awesome player…and some guys here said he only scores taps in and even that he lose too much chances.. ??‍♂️??‍♂️ dear lord

  2. Admin wats causing this adverts on the site is so disturnibg wen they appear cover the whole phone u have no option to but go off site

    1. Emery threw Willock in the deep end playing him as a number 10. Don’t think he’s ready for the 10 and should start CM where he looked good over preseason.

Don’t like the Guendouzi and Xhaka partnership. It’s to defensive/sideways and we struggle offensively with this pairing. Would prefer a Guendouzi & Willock/Cellabos pairing.

People writing Nelson/Willock off after one game. Sort your life out, they are teenagers getting their first start and will need time to adjust and get comfortable.

Chambers looked impressive and composed. Hope he’s given a chance to prove himself.

Cellabos and Pepe nice introduction. Didn’t get to involved and Cellabos turned it over but they needed to feel out the PL. He realised early on this ain’t La Liga and those tricks won’t cut it in England. But both will be better for the experience

      1. Yeah, happy Ceballos got those minutes. You can tell the pace of the league kind of shocked him. Few bad passes when he first came on, but after that i thought he looked pretty decent and he linked together with our forwards far better than Willock did, which is expected, and was also surprised Willock was even in a no. 10 role.

  3. Lucas n guendozi should start as our DM n CM, that will provide more security to defence and also better tempo to the game….along with much more mobility in midfield.

  4. We did well with a poor team. Newcastle were poorer and other teams would have given us bigger problems. Until Bellerin, Tierney and Luiz are in we need a bit of luck. Hopefully at home we can have Auba, Laca, and Pepa all playing together. What a great finish by Auba. Good start.

  5. Great start some lacklustre performances from the usual suspects but a fair bit of promise from the youngsters, good away points, lets kick on with a good home performance against Burnley.
