Walcott admits the Qualifiers were easy

The Arsenal winger-turned-striker Theo Walcott was given his chance in the middle of the action again in England’s 9th win in a row as they beat Estonia 2-0, with the Three Lions top scorer and captain, Wayne Rooney, absent from the squad-

And he yet again was rewarded with another goal to open the scoring, but he admits that the Qualifiers haven’t really been a big test for their credentials ahead of the Euro Finals in Paris next summer.

Roy Hodgson’s side can only beat what is put in front of them though and should complete the perfect set against Lithuainia on Tuesday, but Theo is looking forward to bigger tests ahead. He said: We want to make it 10 on Monday night. It is a nice little thing to have. We want to win every game,”
“But we will be more tested in these friendlies coming up (against France and Spain next month) and everyone wants to win competitions and make this country proud.

“There are some young, eager faces in that dressing room who are keen to do well but we are only going to be judged when it comes to tournament football.”

“Having nine wins after the disappointment from the World Cup and bouncing back the way the players have done, we have to be proud of ourselves,”

“The backroom staff have changed things and things are working for us. This team is definitely hungry and eager to do well.”

Walcott is really hoping to stay fit for next summers Finals as he has always been the “nearly man” when the big ones come around, but first of all they need the big boost of confidence they will get if they can contain the French and Spanish sides first.

Then maybe Theo can dream about peforming on the biggest stage….

  1. Theo played on the right kane played through the middle…. But anyway theo looks so sharp and strong can’t wait till this terrible international break is over and I pray everyone returns healthy.

  2. We already missed on klopp now chelsea is eying diego semion(skysports) the other ambitious manager we could have.We have 12yrs trophy drought yet we are comparing ourselfs with manure, city and chelsea who won title in the last period of 3yrs as if we have the same trophy drought.I dont beat around the bush I go straight into the forest arsenal are always joyriders in the major competitions this mediocrity must end.still wenger out!

  3. England are a useless national team, they’ve qualified so they can get knocked out in the 2nd round or quarters like they always do in every major tournament since 1966!

  4. Has walcott forgotten he has a big game test against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night’s at the Emirates Stadium? He sounds so exited in his comment as he sound to be looking forward to play in the England’s next Euro qualifier on Tuesday. That means he will have 6 days rest instead of 7 before he start the Bayern game. I want Roy Hudgson to bench him and maybe play him as a sub with 5 minutes to the end of the game. Arsenal need a fit & fatigueless Walcott more that England do now. Ramsey should be release to come back today as Wales have qualified. In summary, let all the Gunners on international duty whose services are not dearly needed by their national coach, be release to come back to Arsenal to start training tomorrow for 1 important and another crucial games on Saturday evening and Tuesday night’s.

  6. Gary Neville before the game’ they prepare like they are going to play in the park, they go out thinking wonderful passing, how they will nutmeg someone or score a great goal’.

Gary Neville After the game ‘ everything was absolutely spot on from Arsenal’s point of view, it was as good as possibly it could be from Arsenal ‘
