Walcott admits the Qualifiers were easy

The Arsenal winger-turned-striker Theo Walcott was given his chance in the middle of the action again in England’s 9th win in a row as they beat Estonia 2-0, with the Three Lions top scorer and captain, Wayne Rooney, absent from the squad-

And he yet again was rewarded with another goal to open the scoring, but he admits that the Qualifiers haven’t really been a big test for their credentials ahead of the Euro Finals in Paris next summer.

Roy Hodgson’s side can only beat what is put in front of them though and should complete the perfect set against Lithuainia on Tuesday, but Theo is looking forward to bigger tests ahead. He said: We want to make it 10 on Monday night. It is a nice little thing to have. We want to win every game,”
“But we will be more tested in these friendlies coming up (against France and Spain next month) and everyone wants to win competitions and make this country proud.

“There are some young, eager faces in that dressing room who are keen to do well but we are only going to be judged when it comes to tournament football.”

“Having nine wins after the disappointment from the World Cup and bouncing back the way the players have done, we have to be proud of ourselves,”

“The backroom staff have changed things and things are working for us. This team is definitely hungry and eager to do well.”

Walcott is really hoping to stay fit for next summers Finals as he has always been the “nearly man” when the big ones come around, but first of all they need the big boost of confidence they will get if they can contain the French and Spanish sides first.

Then maybe Theo can dream about peforming on the biggest stage….
