Wenger says Arsenal DO NOT need another striker

There are many Arsenal transfer rumours suggesting that Arsenal will be looking to buy another striker in the wake of the injury to Olivier Giroud, but Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he already has enough strikers on his books to cover the loss of our centre-forward.

The Frenchman said in the Mirror: “In England, as soon as you have a problem, people want you to buy (a replacement). Unfortunately I can give you clubs with plenty of players who every time they lose say they have to buy more. But if you give the number of strikers we have, it is unbelievable.”

It would be interesting for him to giI know Wenger has been known to tell the occasional porky when it comes to his transfer dealings, but it could also be that he is hoping that the doctors report today will be a bit more optimistic. He said about Giroud: “We came back on Saturday night and he was at home on Sunday. He had a medical check and we needed to have further investigation.

“The first news is not fantastic, but I am not a doctor. So I wait for tomorrow’s complete examination and decision for how long he will be out. We will inform you tomorrow afternoon, or night, at the latest.”

So it looks like we are going to be seeing many of our plethora of current strikers (?) tried out as our centre-forward in the coming months.
