West Brom v Arsenal Preview, Line-Up and Score Prediction

West Brom vs Arsenal Preview, Predicted line up and predicted score by KJ

We finally have a win under our belt against one of the bigger teams in midweek and I expect that to propel us onto better things starting with the game at the Hawthorns.

West Brom are always a bit of a difficult team to beat, especially away from home. They generally have a few good players and they always manage to upset a few of the top teams every season. Hopefully it won’t be us this time round.

Arteta is out for a possible 6 weeks which is a massive blow. He was clearly one of our best players against both United and Dortmund showing how integral his intelligence and passing is to our set up. Now we’ll need to cope with Flamini and that does scare me a bit. None of the players around him are comfortable passing the ball to him as he’s just not very good with it. As a result, pressing players with only Flamini as their passing option is a beneficial tactic for the opposition. Hopefully Ramsey sticks close to the Frenchman to ensure that other players aren’t limited with their passing.

Predicted line up:
Martinez
Chambers – Mertesacker – Monreal – Gibbs
Flamini – Ramsey
Oxlade-Chamberlain – Alexis – Cazorla
Giroud

It’s not too bad of a team considering all the injuries we have and I’m far more confident that we can get a result given our recent performance against Dortmund.

I don’t expect Koscielny to start. He’ll probably make a sub appearance late on to shore up the defence as we try and protect our lead (hopefully).

Ramsey will need to build on his performance against Dortmund with another solid one against West Brom.
Chamberlain and Alexis are in some great form at the moment and I expect them to be at the heart of every attack. Their dynamic pace and agility allows them to ride challenges and to create chances out of nothing.

Giroud could also be a better strike partner for Alexis as the Frenchman will stay close to the Chilean and will look to combine with him as often as possible.

I expect us to finally get back to winning ways in the Premier League. 2 – 0 to Arsenal.

  1. We have many strikers at the moment and very few midfielders so a 4-4-2 seems like a good idea. I’ll like to see Cazorla play beside Flamini in midfield with Podolski and the Ox on the wings. Giroud and Alexis to be our 2 strikers. But I guess Wenger won’t make such radical change. We’re likely to see the BVB line up with probably Giroud and Flamini coming in for Sanogo and Arteta respectively.

  2. FOR ME :
    MARTINEZ
    chambers kosc monreal gibbs
    ramsey
    AOC CAZ ROSKY SAN
welbeck/giroud in 4-1-4-1 with ramsey very disciplined and stay in front of the back 4.with this team we must win atleast 4-0.

      1. yes monreal in the last two game was better than mertesacker.he just has to work his aerial game, and he will be decent with his agressivity and speed which is better than per.

  3. I think we’ll go 4-4-2 with Alexis and Giroud. That has the potential to be killer – defences can’t press high or Alexis will hit them with pace, sitting in their own box won’t help either, Giroud is strong in the air and can hold the ball up well, plus both Alexis and Giroud are poachers in the box.

  4. alexis is gonna get injured if were not careful, he plays non stop every game with no rest.
gotta be careful with our chilean cupcake

  5. Off topic.
40% of all our injuries in 2014 were soft tissue injuries = preventable (most often caused by overuse, not. impact)….in going to be cross with Wenger for over playing players while others are there setting on the bench doing notthing …
Pls, Arsene give TR7, LP10, JC28 and even some academy players a chance ..try and rotate a little bit …with the way things is going I’m sure AS17 we get injury soon with out proper rest.

  6. dear fan of arsenal fc if arsene wenger don’t buy a dm and cb early in the transfert window in january.we will go at emirates with this spot:

“no dm and no cb wenger out”

then all medias will focus on that and arsene will understand that we are tired with the same old problems.

  7. Wenger obviously doing some rotation. Gibbs and the OX have apparently been rested, or something like that. I like our attack with Welbeck, Giroud and Alexis all on the same pitch. Can’t figure out what formation we’ll be using though. Kos is back!!!

  8. @twig i dont think ox is rested because wenger said it that welback will play lw once giroud is back.me and you know that sanchez will 1st pick vs ox for rw role
