Which Arsenal stars are NOT going to Australia?

At this time last year, Arsenal hardly had any of our first team players back in time to prepare for pre-season because most of them were at the World Cup and were given later holidays than the rest. We all know we had a very makeshift side when we faced Liverpool in the opening game, – and we all know how that went!

This year there has been the Confederations Cup, which saw Germany beat Chile in the Final, and a few youth tournaments. Also there was the usual World Cup Qualifiers after the season ended but all-in-all we should have many more players back well before the season starts.

But there will be a few missing. Obviously Alexis Sanchez and Shkrodan Mustafi went to the Final, and Hector Bellerin played in the Final of the U21 Euros so are not yet returned from their holidays and won’t be going to Australia for the first pre-season matches. Rob Holding and Calum Chambers were also there with England and will be late returning.

Others who were on international duty like Olivier Giroud, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Laurent Koscielny will have their fitness assessed before a decision is made on their participation. And we can now add Alexandre Lacazette to that list…

Normally you would expect the players involved in transfer discussions to leave the club not to travel, and it has already been confirmed that by the Spanish football expert, Carlos Rosende, that Lucas Perez will also remain in London ahead of a possible move.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the full travelling party to see who else is missing from the plane. It could give us more ideas of who will be leaving….

  1. With the players who we have bought, I’m confused as to what formation the manager is going to use. Will he revert to the 4-2-3-1 or stick to the 3-4-3. For the current players, 4-2-3-1 is the best bet to fit them all but it was the 3-4-3 that gave us massive results in the latter part of last season. We all want Mahrez but where in the 3-4-3 will he fit?

    1. We can play 3-5-2 too, if AW rates that formation, with Nacho/Mustafi/Kos/Monreal/Holding/ Chambers covering the back line Sead/Ramsey/Ozil/Xhaka/Ox in mid-field and Alexis/Laca upfront

    2. Something like:
      3-4-3
      ……………………Cech
      …….Koscielny…Mustafi…Kolsanic (3)
      Bellerin…….Xhaka….Ozil……..Monreal (4)
      Walcott…………Lacazette……..Lemar (3)

      or

      4-2-3-1

      ……………………Cech
      Bellerin…Koscielny….Mustafi….Kolsanic (4)
      …………….Xhaka…..Brozovic (2)
      Walcott…………..Ozil………………Lemar (3)
      …………………Lacazette (1)

  2. For those of you asking about lemar. Yes the news is true as per my source. So far everything that I’ve said on here has happened exactly the way that my source said.
Mahrez is a standoff on transfer fee. Player wants the move arsenal won’t meet asking price of around 50m pounds.
The other players are loose targets that the club is eyeing in general. Kimpembe maybe next window as a koscielny replacement. Not many departures from arsenal this window.
Alexis as far as my sources have said. He has agreed to stay for a deal worth close to 350k a week. But I don’t believe anything about alexis and neither should you until its official.

    1. Your sources :
      Agent Stretham
      Moley twitter

      Enough bro lol

      1. I have friends within the club as well. Agentstretham_ is my friend’s account. I told you guys ages ago that I was trying to convince my friend to set up an account..So I kinda get more info than a 140 word tweet:)

    2. Deal is super close. Last minute negotiations etc: announcement can be expected as early as 23rd of july. Of course It may be later than that or even earlier. But my source says that.
As fans we would hope before the tour ends! All hands on deck for the lemar deal now.

      1. im not knocking you but if the deal is close why will it take two weeks to announce ??

        1. Clubs cannot announce a deal officially without everything being done officially and legally. The club could not announce lacazette without everything being done.
There is a lot that goes into a transfer..

    3. welcome back resource…iv been routing for you since we signed lacazaete…you were accused of leading people on..but what most fans dont understand is behind the scenes a lot of moves go on which they dont know about…its only what , they want fans to see they dish out…hence the folly of such accusations, because ive also managed celebrities before..thumbs up to you and may the signnings you pridicted shame face your accusers

  3. we did not play 343. Wenger changed to 3421 when in attack and 352 when defending and it was due to the fabs demands after the Crystal palace defeat, at least we got a plan B ever since. we can go for his forever 4231 and now 3421 but also 3521. If Alexis remain and we get Lamar then we can go 343 Like barca but i doubt it. Lets see how the pre season goes. its when the experiments count.

      1. Nah, it’s where we play rush goalie lol Cech can play CB and run back into goal to stop shots ??

  4. Travelling squad

    Petr Cech (GK)
    Emi Martinez (GK)
    David Ospina (GK)
    Krystian Bielik
    Cohen Bramall
    Francis Coquelin
    Mohamed Elneny
    Olivier Giroud
    Alex Iwobi
    Sead Kolasinac
    Laurent Koscielny
    Alexandre Lacazette
    Ainsley Maitland-Niles
    Donyell Malen
    Per Mertesacker
    Nacho Monreal
    Reiss Nelson
    Eddie Nketiah
    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
    Mesut Ozil
    Aaron Ramsey
    Theo Walcott
    Danny Welbeck
    Joe Willock
    Granit Xhaka

No Sanchez, Chambers, Holding, Mustafi, because they were all on international duties for their respective countries at different level and competitions. No Paulista, Carzola due to injury

NO : Wilshire, Jekinson, Apkom, Debuchy, Perez, Gibbs, Compbell and Scsecny because they would be sold and loan others

    1. we seem a little weak at RB. with debuchy out the door and jenkinson not good enough, who does that leave us with if Hector gets hurt? I know Mustafi and Coq are fairly capable along with Maintland-Niles but still makes me a little worried
