Who would you pick to replace Arsenal’s missing players against Man United?

Will Arsenal injuries prove costly against United? By Twig

Arsenal clash with Manchester United in a must win game on Saturday. Aside the small personal battle between Wenger and Mourinho (which neither manager admits!), we need a win to keep momentum with Liverpool at the top of the table.

However, Arsenal hopes for a good showing against United have greatly dampened in recent weeks. Bellerin had, it appears, picked up an injury in the last 10 seconds against Spurs, and will not be available. He has certainly been one of our top performers and will be sorely missed. Sanchez was at his best for Chile against Uruguay, but the massive bandage on his thigh will surely make United fans hopeful!

Cazorla is still on the sidelines and it appears no one knows when he’ll be back. His importance to Arsenal cannot be overstated. We’ve struggled for wins and dominance ever since his injury against Ludogorets. Cazorla has been getting increasingly injury prone these days, and more worryingly, he seems to take a while in getting back.

As if that isn’t bad enough, it has just emerged that Theo Walcott might also be unavailable. However his absence is as a result of less distressing reasons, as Theo and Melanie are expecting their second child anytime from now! The good thing is should Theo make the game on Saturday, he’ll certainly be extra motivated to get on the scoresheet and get to do that famous Bebeto celebration!

So do you think Arsenal has enough strength in depth to dispatch Manchester United on Saturday? If all the listed players are not available, which players should replace them?

  1. Wilshegz says:

    MAITLAND-NILES, Mustafi,Koscielny,Monreal

.. let’s go trash those manure!

    2. PRINCE AFZ says:

Yeah, I have been thinking about this Maitland dude since he played at right back in the league cup. That guy is a fighter. We can play him there depending on the fitness of Jenko. I won’t mind having Giroud at the middle while Alexis plays some part at the flank. I don’t want us to risk Alexis in the full game. We need him both in the EPL and CL.

      1. Wilshegz says:

many of u always find one excuse to put Giroud in the starting XI like yu haven’t seen enough of him in the past 4years.

If Alexis is not to be risked it’s best to start him upfront, get the convincing win in d 1st half n sub him off in the 2nd half.
as should have been done vs Ludogorets away but unfortunately we learned the hard way cos Alexis still had to play almost 90min cos we were chasing the game n lacked precision, penetration n pace upfront thanks to Giroud starting

  2. Dennis says:

I would replace bellerin/cazorla with Maitland and El neny. Play Alexis up front for the first half and blitz the Manure

  3. ButtFlaps says:

We must to play SANCHES!!!! THERE IS NO CHOICES!

  4. Arsenal goonz says:

If Sanchez is fit ,its a no brainer for him to play however if he’s not 100% ,I would rather he’s rested against manure.he’s a very important player in our tittle chase ,so I prefer he’s missed in one game rather than miss a couple of weeks, which could happen if he’s unduly risked.for the midfield ,le coq and boomer.yea carzola’s absence has been felt however xhaka had his best game so far against spuds ,only problem was the massive physical presence of dembele and wanyama, which fortunately manure cannot boast off.so I expect we dominate them with combination of lecoq’s tackling and xhaka’s intricate passes and his extra physical presence. For right back ,the young lad would be my pick but I have a feeling the proff will go with jenko.
