Why are Arsenal sending Calum Chambers out on loan? Please explain….

This is one move I really can’t understand as Calum Chambers has looked much more assured for Arsenal in pre-season, and also performed admirably in the last few games of last season while Emery was watching. But apparently it is very likely with both Sky and ESPN both reporting it as fact. The ESPN report says……

Defender Calum Chambers is in talks with Fulham over a possible loan away from Arsenal, sources have told ESPN FC.

Fulham are one of a number of Premier League clubs to make enquiries about Chambers’ availability, including the likes of Leicester City, Watford, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal are open to the idea of loaning out Chambers, 23, as he has fallen down Unai Emery’s pecking order, and Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to bolster Fulham’s defensive options before the close of the transfer window on Thursday.

I know Arsenal have brought in Sokratis to steady the ship in central, and Mavropanos could now be a candidate along with Mustafi and Holding, but UNLESS we are bringing in yet another centre-back then surely we need the ex-Southampton star. Last season, Wenger used Holding and Chambers in the Europa League games and League Cup matches, and they are supposed to be our pairing of the future. Surely they should be playing together as often as possible.

Can anyone explain to me why this is a good idea?
