Why Arsenal should be TOP of Premier League on Monday

A lot of Arsenal fans are worried about the current injury situation at the club for two reasons. First of all there is the concern that we will not be able to continue the brilliant start to the season and could rop some valuable Premier League points over the next few weeks and secondly there is the concern that the underlying injury problems at the club are still there.

All we can do on the second one is wait and see but I think we can at least relax about the first one to a certain extent. Yes the Gunners have some key players missing in midfield and the forward line but we still have the likes of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez and you would think that would be enough to deal with a West Brom side that is struggling and not really looking like a typical Pulis team.

Another reason we should not panic is that our two main rivals for the EPL title, Man City and United, are struggling with their own injury problems. City have just got Aguero back after six weeks out and it was his recurring hamstring problem so Pellegrini will want to ease the striker back. They are also without key men Silva and Kompany and have Jurgen Klopp´s Liverpool to deal with.

United have an easier fixture away to Watford but we saw ourselves how good the Hornets are defensively and United have been struggling to create and score goals, so the fact they are without Rooney, Martial and Fellaini leaves them really short on attacking options.

There is also the season’s surprise package Leicester City to consider as well who keep defying expectation and winning but even if they do return from Newcastle with three points, and Arsenal win would keep us above them.

All things considered, do you expect Arsenal to finish the weekend on top of the Premier League?

  1. wenger should have bought a few players in summer, given our recurring injuries. that he did not shows that he is delusional. i bet he was in the market but couldn’t bring himself to pay the going price. his stubborness & delusion is going to jeopardise our season. just hope walcott can get back (and pls give a week off to sanchez).

  2. If we can stay within 4points off the top till January, Arsene should please bring in two good players to help our season in case of injuries in the second half of the season.
I expect a win today. WestBrom will sit back and wait for counter atacking chances. Key to a victory today is defending well. Am sure we will score.

    1. Please mention two types of players, because our wishlist might be changing all the time due to injury strikes.

  3. Its right time to be top and build a gap between now and January, then when its half season, all we need to do is to keep the gap. #COYG we can do it.
    And don’t forget
    1. Alexis is at about 40% of himself, how about when he’s back to basics??
    2. Theo and Rambo are coming soon. About 30% of our goals come from those guys on a normal day.
    3. The mighty bellerin is back.

  4. why is it that people keep going on about injuries as if we were the only team with injured players, have a look at other teams they do not fare much better like the article states above, man city(kompany,nasri,silva..)manure(rooney.fellaini,martial,luke shaw..)one is out for the season, nasri out for 3 months, valencia whom i forgot is along term one few months!!it seems people don,t do their own homework and just repeating what they read or heard!!also we just got bellerin back, ramsey, theo, the ox will be back soon and people are still complaining??just imagine when these players get back they will be fresh&rested,we will be able to push on,rotate some players while other teams will go through difficult patches due to fatigue and injuries!!
