Arsenal enjoyed a switch in formation towards the end of the season, but it remains to be seen whether the club will stick with the new system going into the new season.
Arsene Wenger confirmed his new two-year contract yesterday, which will see him remain in control of the squad for the new season, and the Frenchman has been ordered to improve his transfer dealings after a long-drawn out transfer window last summer.
Wenger will now have to decide whether he will be sticking with the newly-fashionable 3-4-2-1, sported by last terms top two in the table, as well as used in our last 10 matches, including our FA Cup final win over Premier League champions Chelsea.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will stick with the knew formation going into the new season, with the switch believed to have been made in order to bring stability to our defence, but the new system has also worked wonders for our attacking line, and looks likely to stay.
Should this system stay in place, that could well pose a huge threats to a number of key players places in the squad, with more numbers needed in defence and midfield, than in the attacking roles.
This summer’s transfer arrivals may well prove the biggest inclination as to whether we will be staying in the current formation, with a new defender needed to come in and play centre-back, and a top striker needed this summer.
Theo Walcott could well find himself losing his place in the squad, although that could well stem on the futures of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who are both linked with the exit door, and both only have one year left on their contracts.
