Will Giroud start against Chelsea?

Arsenal fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with our French striker, who seems to be suffering from a lack of confidence at the moment, which may be a problem created by the criticism in the first place!

But Arsene Wenger has always backed Olivier and usually gives him a chance to ‘bounce back’ after a disappointing performance. The manager started with Giroud in Zagreb after he had been booed off the pitch whilst playing for France, but that decision backfired when the French striker managed to get sent off as his frustration mounted.

But Wenger seems to still have confidence in Giroud, and although Le Prof says that he hasn’t decided on today’s striker, he seems to think Walcott is a good option to bring on from the bench. Arsene said on Arsenal.com: At the moment I must say that is a decision I still have to make tomorrow morning,” the manager said. “I try to use the best solution that gives us the most efficiency offensively.

“Every game is different and that is why I don’t deny at all the quality of Walcott. I am very happy that he scored so many goals in so many starts. He shows as well that when he comes on, he can score as well, which he did in Zagreb.”

So how many Arsenal fans think that Giroud has had enough chances and think that Walcott should now be an automatic starter untilhe gets injured?

    Hopefully not .
I want Theo and Sanchez with Ozil behind them .
We are not going to get too many chances and if you asked me, I want Theo at the end of the few we get.

  3. Twig says:

    It’s fifty-fifty.

  4. Tyno says:

Well, that’d be great. Won’t it?
    Na na na…

  5. almostawinner says:

if we need some kind of obstacle, like a lamp-post, we could start him.

    1. Dee@ease says:

If Giroud starts it will mean we are starting the game with 10 men,the donkey should be benched!

      1. almostawinner says:

maybe he could be instructed to run around outside the 18yd box to attract defenders to him and open up space so goalscorers could score. that would be the best use.

  6. gooner100 says:

    Big decisions today…

Walcott or Giroud – up front
Ox, Walcott or Ramsay – on the right
Cazorla or Ramsay – in the centre with Coquelin.

Some though calls to be made.

Def Back four of Bellerin, Gab, Koz, Monreal.

    1. muffdiver says:

That back 4 at the back with le coq infront of it…fills me with confidence

Its whether we can be clinical against a chelsea defence that lets be honest has been below par.

Dont wanna see us pass it into the net. Lets be quick an relentless

  7. fishface says:

Theo up top for me. Alexis Ozil and Ox behind him.Santi and Coq. Back 4.Cech.
    Rambo on bench.

  8. Okayblack says:

Nothing bad in starting Giroud, both him and Theo aren’t that good. In a match like dis, U may need Giroud as he will keep the defense busy.
If Theo plays it will mean we will only use speed n Tru passes that’s when Ozil & Santi are really needed, Theo misses loads of chances too. I am in no way a Giroud fan and will never be cos I believe it’s an insult to Arsenal that Giroud is our first choice Striker. But at the moment we don’t have an alternative. (a better one).
The problem is Arsene Wenger. He’s not ambitious and doesn’t care about us the fans and our emotions/feelings. I just hope he leaves soon. But b4 then, we have to accept whatever happens in today’s game. Wenger always have perfect explanations… I want Wenger Out!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Jim A says:

I have been saying since day one 17.12,14
They are our best option to win games. All three should be playing together.

  10. Mo1 says:

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if wenger starts him that’s wenger in a nutshell, him against the world and who’s right???? Let’s not go there!!!

If you ask me I will take a draw and run really hope we stay compact and play on counter, even though they are on thier worst run in years I’m not filled with confidence going there.

Take a draw and run I say
