Will Ozil be snookered into Arsenal stay?

Mesut Ozil is nearing the final 12 months of his contract, and is being linked with an exit from Arsenal this summer, but where could he go?

According to the latest reports, Mesut Ozil will be overlooked by the big clubs this summer, and may be forced to extend his contract with us, without holding a strong hand to negotiate terms.

Apparently Fenerbahce are the biggest European club to be eyeing his signature, but with the Turkish side unlikely to match his wage demands, he may have to look for a pay-day in the Middle-East or China, a destination he is not favourable of.

The German is claimed to have expected some sort of scramble for his signature, but has had a surprisingly low level of interest shown despite his contract situation.

We are supposedly in talks with Ozil over a new deal, claimed to be worth £250,000 per week, a whopping £110,000 more than he is currently receiving, but I find it hard to believe that we would be willing to give in to such demands.

We have also been speculated to have offered Alexis Sanchez a new £300,000 per week offer to extend his Arsenal deal, which would sound realistic if Ozil was offered the above, but Wenger laughed off such numbers for the Chilean earlier today, and I refuse to believe such numbers.

We look dangerously likely to miss out on Champions League football for next season, which may end all hopes of tying Alexis to a new contract, but the German looks like he may not have the luxury of pushing a move to a worthy side.

Will any decent sides come in for Ozil if the contract situation isn’t sorted out? Could we really be considering a £250,000 wage for Mesut?
