Would this wantaway Everton midfielder suit Arsenal?

Arsenal have struggled to cope with the loss of Santi Cazorla to injury this term, and I can’t help but look at possible replacements.

Everton are supposedly considering allowing Gerard Deulofeu to leave the club, and have already turned down a temporary offer, with a permanent deal seemingly more likely for the Spaniard.

The former Barcelona youth product has formerly been hailed as one of the best young talents on the continent, but has failed to earn a regular starting role for the Merseyside club.

I would love to see Arsene Wenger take a chance on him and bring him to Arsenal, and could see how he could be due a positional change.

In my opinion, Deulofeu has always been highly creative, and like Santi Cazorla, has excellent close-control and is keen to get forward.

I can see the 22 year-old being a top central midfielder with a little bit of time, and we know how Arsene Wenger loves a bargain, as well as seeing how to get the most out of players with a position change.

AC Milan were said to have come in with an offer to loan the Everton star, and are also claimed to be unwilling to buy him as they struggle with their finances amidst the takeover by Chinese investors.

Middlesbrough and Ajax are now believed to be leading the chase for Deulofeu, but I would like our club to get involved.

Can anyone else see a potential central midfielder in Deulofeu? Should Arsenal look at signing him?

  1. Potential Central Midfielder? Honestly, I don’t think so.

He is a good player with potential.. Suited on the flank or a supporting striker but still needs to work on his end product and judgement in the final third.

  2. No. He is not a CM. He is a wide forward or winger. He hasn’t proven to be consistent at Everton so why would Arsenal take the risk? We have enough players who need to improve.

  3. We have cazorla coquelin xhaka ramsey wilshire elneny who are all better suited for our twin deep lying playmaker roles. We already have younger players at the club already that we can develop.

However should a player be available now and ready to slot in and improve on the 6 we have that is different. Let’s remember 3 of the 6 Ientioned are currently not available due to injury, loan and international call up. Some one like Isco.is worth spending money on or how about a little 5 month contract for Fat Lampard?

  4. It wont happen….someone else will snatch him up while Arsene sits around spying on the refs to see if he can blame them for our next defeat. We are linked with Alvaro Morata ….when in fact Chelsea will swoop in and get him to replace costa….we need a Santi Cazorla replacement yet we are linked with NOONE in that area of the field yet Man united will apparently be getting Greizman ???wtf??
I think we could really use Morata but it wont happen we really need a number of players and we need to drop a number BUT, well you know….(Wenger Quote) …it was the refs fault

  5. I think he’s played CM twice, which resulted in him being perpetually benched. He is a Winger or inside forward, not a CM or even a number 10. Having said that, I do like him a lot! I remember a couple of years ago he came on as a sub and annihilated Monreal. I think with confidence and pace around him he is a quality player!

Would rather rob them of Lukaku though…

  6. Arsenal is not refuge centre for a rejected players, if Barca can have player like Messi, Suarez, Neymar, and other set of good players, Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG etc can have a group of talented players in their term, why must Arsenal who is bigger than Everton in all ramification go for their rejected player not even their best. We have to dream higher so that we can get what is higher.
